حکمت ۳۴۴۱ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3441 — This Worldمَنْ أحَبَّ رِفْعَةَ الدُّنيا والآخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْقُتْ فِي الدُّنيا الرِّفْعَةَ.
هر که بلندیِ دنیا و آخرت خواهد، باید بلندی را در دنیا دشمن دارد.
One who loves [to acquire] the prestige of [both] this world and the Hereafter must detest prestige in this world.
حکمت ۳۴۴۲ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3442 — This Worldمَنْ تَذَلَّلَ لاِبْناءِ الدُّنيا، تَعَرّى مِنْ لِباسِ التَّقوى.
هر که برای فرزندانِ دنیا فروتنی کند، از جامهٔ تقوا برهنه شود.
One who humbles himself for the children of this world takes off the garment of piety.
حکمت ۳۴۴۳ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3443 — This Worldمَنْ قَصَّرَ نَظَرَهُ على أبْناءِ الدُّنيا، عَمِىَ عَنْ سَبيلِ الهُدى.
هر که نگاهش را بر فرزندانِ دنیا کوتاه دارد، از راهِ هدایت کور شود.
One who fixes his gaze on the children of this world is blinded from the path of guidance.
حکمت ۳۴۴۴ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3444 — This Worldمَنْ طَلَبَ مِنَ الدُّنيا شَيْئاً، فاتَهُ مِنَ الآخِرَةِ أكْثَرُ مِمّا طَلَبَ.
هر که از دنیا چیزی خواهد، از آخرت بیش از آنچه خواسته فوتش شود.
One who seeks something from this world is eluded by something greater from the Hereafter than what he seeks [from this world].
حکمت ۳۴۴۵ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3445 — This Worldمَنْ طَلَبَ الدُّنيا بِعَمَلِ الآخِرَةِ،كانَ أبْعَدَ لَهُ مِمّا طَلَبَ.
هر که دنیا را با عملِ آخرت خواهد، از آنچه خواسته دورتر ماند.
Whoever seeks [the profits of] this world through the work of the Hereafter, it takes him further away from that which he seeks.
حکمت ۳۴۴۶ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3446 — This Worldمَن سَخَتْ نَفْسُهُ عَنْ مَواهِبِ الدُّنيا، فَقَدِ اسْتَكْمَلَ العَقْلَ.
هر که جانش از بخشش‌های دنیا بگذرد، خِرَد را کامل کرده است.
One who is glad to relinquish the bounties of this world [for the sake of the Hereafter] has certainly perfected his intellect.
حکمت ۳۴۴۷ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3447 — This Worldمَنْ مَلَكَ مِنَ الدُّنيا شَيْئاً، فاتَهُ مِنَ الآخِرَةِ أكثَرَ مِمّا مَلَكَ.
هر که از دنیا چیزی مالک شود، از آخرت بیش از آنچه مالک شده فوتش شود.
Whoever gains possession of something of this world loses much more of the Hereafter than what he possesses [of this world].
حکمت ۳۴۴۸ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3448 — This Worldمَنْ عَرَفَ الدُّنيا لَمْ يَحْزَنْ على ما أصابَهُ.
هر که دنیا را بشناسد، بر آنچه به او رسد اندوه نخورد.
One who knows [the reality of] this world is not saddened by that which befalls him [in it].
حکمت ۳۴۴۹ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3449 — This Worldمَنْ عَرَفَ خِداعَ الدُّنيا لَمْ يَغْتَرَّ مِنْها بِمُحالاتِ الأحْلامِ.
هر که حیلهٔ دنیا را بشناسد، به محالِ آرزوهایش فریفته نشود.
One who recognizes the deceptions of this world will not be deceived by its impossible dreams.
حکمت ۳۴۵۰ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3450 — This Worldمَنْ ظَفِرَ بِالدُّنيا نَصِبَ، وَمَنْ فاتَتْهُ تَعِبَ.
هر که به دنیا دست یابد، به رنج افتد و هر که از او فوت شود، خسته شود.
One who triumphs in this world becomes troubled and one whom it eludes gets distressed.
حکمت ۳۴۵۱ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3451 — This Worldمَنْ عَظُمَتِ الدُّنيا في عَيْنِهِ، وكَبُرَ مَوْقِعُها في قَلْبِهِ، أثَرَها عَلَـى اللّهِ، وانْقَطَعَ إلَيْها، وصارَ عبداً لَها.
هر که دنیا در چشمش بزرگ شود و جایگاهش در دلش بلند، آن را بر خدا برگزیند و بدان بگراید و بنده‌اش شود.
One in whose eyes this world is grand and in whose heart its position is great, prefers it over Allah and devotes himself to it and becomes a slave to it.
حکمت ۳۴۵۲ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3452 — This Worldمَنِ اسْتَشْعَرَ الشَّغَفَ بِالدُّنيا، مَلأَتْ ضميرَهُ أشْجاناً لها رَقْصٌ عَلى سُوَيْداءِ قَلْبِهِ، هَمٌّ يَشْغَلُهُ، وغَمٌّ يَحْزُنُهُ حَتّى يُؤخَذَ بِكَظْمِهِ، فَيُلْقى بِالفَضاءِ مُنقَطِعاً أبْهَراهُ، هَيِّناً عَلَـى اللّهِ فَناءُهُ بَعيداً عَلَى الإخْوانِ لِقاؤُهُ (بَقائُهُ).
هر که شیفتگی به دنیا را شعار سازد، دلش را از اندوه‌هایی پُر کند که بر سیاهیِ قلبش رقصد: اندوهی که سرگرمش دارد و غمی که غمگینش کند تا آن گاه که به حنجره‌اش گرفته شود و در بیابان افکنده شود، در حالی که پشتش بریده و فناش بر خدا آسان و دیدارش بر برادران دور است.
One who becomes infatuated with this world, it fills his heart with a sadness which keeps alternating in the black part of his heart, a distress that worries him and a grief that causes him pain, until its suffocation [of death] overtakes him and he is flung in the open while both the arteries of his heart are severed. It is easy for Allah to cause him to die and he becomes too far for his comrades to meet him (or to remain with him).
حکمت ۳۴۵۳ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3453 — This Worldمَنِ اعْتَمَدَ علَى الدُّنيا فَهُوَ الشَّقيُّ المَحْرُومُ.
هر که به دنیا تکیه کند، همان بدبختِ محروم است.
One who relies on this world is indeed wretched and deprived.
حکمت ۳۴۵۴ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3454 — This Worldمَنْ خَدَمَ الدُّنيا اِسْتَخْدَمَتْهُ، ومَن ْ خَدَمَ اللّهَ سُبْحانَهُ خَدَمَتْهُ.
هر که دنیا را خدمت کند، دنیا به خدمتش کشد و هر که خدای سبحان را خدمت کند، [دنیا] به خدمتش آید.
Whoever serves this world, it exploits him and whoever serves Allah, the Glorified, it (this world) serves him.
حکمت ۳۴۵۵ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3455 — This Worldمَنْ كانَتْ الدُّنيا هَمَّهُ، طالَ يَوْمَ القِيامَةِ شَقاؤُهُ وغَمُّهُ.
هر که دنیا همّش باشد، در روز قیامت بدبختی و غمش دراز شود.
One whose concern [and effort] is for this world, his wretchedness and misery will be prolonged on the Day of Resurrection.
حکمت ۳۴۵۶ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3456 — This Worldمَنْ سَلا عَنْ مَواهِبِ الدُّنيا عَزَّ.
هر که از بخشش‌های دنیا دل بکند، عزیز شود.
One who does not think about the bounties of his world becomes powerful.
حکمت ۳۴۵۷ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3457 — This Worldمِنْ نَكَدِ الدُّنيا تَنْغيصُ الاِجتِماعِ بِالفُرْقَةِ، والسُّروُرِ بالغُصَّةِ.
از ناگواریِ دنیاست که گردآمدن را به جدایی و شادی را به گلوگیر ناگوار کند.
One of the troubles of this world is the spoiling of union by separation and happiness by distress.
حکمت ۳۴۵۸ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3458 — This Worldمِنْ هَوانِ الدُّنيا علَى اللّهِ أنْ لا يُعْصى إلاّ فيها.
از خواریِ دنیا نزد خداست که جز در آن نافرمانی نشود.
It is from the lowliness of this world in front Allah is that He is not disobeyed anywhere except in it.
حکمت ۳۴۵۹ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3459 — This Worldمِنْ ذَمامَةِ الدُّنيا عِنْدَاللّهِ أنْ لايُنالَ ما عِنْدَهُ إلاّ بِتَرْكِها.
از ناچیزیِ دنیا نزد خداست که آنچه نزد اوست جز به ترکش به دست نیاید.
From the [signs of the] contemptibleness of this world in the sight of Allah is that one does not gain that which is with Him except by abandoning it.
حکمت ۳۴۶۰ — موضوع ۲۱۵ · This WorldSaying 3460 — This Worldما أفْسَدَ الدّينَ كَالدُّنيا.
هیچ چیز دین را چون دنیا تباه نکند.
Nothing corrupts the faith like this world.
