حکمت ۳۸۱ تا ۴۰۰Sayings 381 to 400
لايَأمَنُ مُجالِسُوا الأشرارِ غوائِلَ البَلاءِ.
همنشینانِ بدان از آسیب‌های بلا ایمن نباشند.
None accompany the virtuous except those who are like them.
لإخوانُ جَلاءُ الهُمُومِ والأحزانِ.
برادران جلا‌دهندهٔ غم‌ها و اندوه‌اند.
Those who sit in the company of the wicked are not safe from the calamities of tribulation.
أطِعْ أخاكَ وإنْ عَصاكَ، وَصِلْهُ وإنْ جَفاكَ.
برادرت را فرمان ببر هرچند نافرمانیت کند و با او پیوند کن هرچند جفایت کند.
Brothers are eliminators of grief and sorrow.
إصْحَبْ أخاَ التُّقى والدّينِ تَسْلَمْ، وأسْتَرشدْهُ تَغْنَمْ.
با برادرِ تقوا و دین همنشین شو تا سلامت مانی و از او راه بخواه تا به غنیمت برسی.
Obey your brother even if he disobeys you, and establish ties with him even if he shuns you.
أحْبِبْ في اللّهِ مَنْ يُجاهِدُكَ على صَلاحِ دين، ويُكْسِيكَ(يُكْسِبُكَ) حُسنَ يَقين.
برای خدا دوست بدار آن‌که تو را بر صلاح دینت به مجاهده وادارد و جامهٔ یقین نیکو بر تو پوشاند.
Keep yourself in the company of a virtuous and pious brother and you will remain safe, seek advice from him and you will benefit.
إرْفَقْ بِإخْوانِكَ، وَاكْفِهِمْ غَربَ لِسانِكَ، وأجْرِ عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْبَ إحسانِكَ.
با برادرانت مدارا کن و تیزیِ زبانت را از آنان بازدار و روانهٔ احسانت را بر ایشان جاری ساز.
Love for the sake of Allah the one who struggles against you for the betterment of [your] religion and covers you with the mantle of certitude.
اُبْذُلْ لِصَديقِكَ نُصْحَكَ، ولِمَعارِفِكَ مَعُونَتـَكَ، ولِكافَّةِ النَّاسِ بِشْرَكَ.
نصیحتت را به دوستت و یاری‌ات را به آشنایانت و گشاده‌روی‌ات را به همهٔ مردم ببخشای.
Be courteous to your brothers and don’t expose them to the harshness of your tongue; and let your goodness flow forth for them.
إحْذَرْ مُصاحَبَةَ كُلِّ مَنْ يُقْبَلُ رَأيُهُ، ويُنكَرُ عَمَلُهُ، فإنَّ الصّاحِبَ مُعْتَبَرٌ بِصاحِبِهِ.
از همنشینی با هر آن‌که رأیاش پذیرفته شود و کردارش نکوهیده بپرهیز؛ چرا که همنشین به همنشینش سنجیده شود.
Offer your advice to your friend, your assistance to your acquaintance, and to all the people, your cheerfulness.
إحْذَر مُجالِسَةَ قَرينِ السَّوءِ فَإنَّهُ يُهْلِكُ مُقارِنَهُ، ويُرْدي مُصاحِبَهُ.
از مجالست با همنشینِ بد بپرهیز که همنشینش را هلاک کند و همراهش را به هلاکت اندازد.
Be cautious of the company of one whose opinion is accepted but whose actions are evil, for surely a person is judged by the company he keeps.
لا تُؤثِرْ دَنِيّاً عَلى شَريف.
فرومایه را بر شریف مقدم مدار.
Be careful not to associate with an evil colleague, for his association will destroy you and his companionship will ruin you.
لا تَصْحَبَنَّ مَنْ لا عَقْلَ لَهُ.
هرگز با بی‌خِرَد همنشین مشو.
Do not give preference to an ignoble person over a noble one.
لا تَصْحَبِ المائِقَ فَيُزَيِّنَ لَكَ فِعْلَهُ، ويَوَدَّ أنّكَ مِثْلُهُ.
با ابله همنشین مشو که رفتارش را بر تو بیاراید و آرزو کند که چون او باشی.
Never associate with one who has no intelligence.
لاتَصْحَبَنَّ أبْناءَ الدُّنيا فإنّكَ إنْ أقْلَلْتَ إسْتَثْقَلُوكَ وإنْ أكْثَرتَ حَسَدُوكَ.
هرگز با فرزندان دنیا همنشین مشو که اگر [از احسان] کم کنی، سنگینت شمارند و اگر بسیار کنی، به تو حسد ورزند.
Do not associate with a fool, for he will embellish his actions for you and want you to become like him.
لا تُكْثِرَنَّ صُحْبَةَ اللَّئيمِ، فإنَّهُ إنْ صَحِبَتْكَ نِعْمَةٌ حَسَدَكَ، وإنْ طرَقَتْكَ نائِبَةٌ قَذَفَكَ.
همنشینی با فرومایه را بسیار مکن؛ چرا که اگر نعمتی به تو رسد، به تو حسد کند و اگر مصیبتی رسد، به تو تهمت زند.
Do not associate with those who love this world, for if you have less they will disregard you and if you have more they will envy you.
لا تَسْتَكْثِرَنَّ مِنْ إخوانِ الدُّنيا، فَإنَّكَ إنْ عَجَزْتَ عَنْهُمْ تَحَوَّلُوا أعداءً، وإنَّ مَثَلَهُمْ كَمَثَلِ النَّارِ كَثيرُها يُحرِقُ وقليلُها يَنْفَعُ.
برادران دنیا را بسیار مگیر؛ چرا که اگر از عهده‌شان برنیایی، دشمن شوند و مَثَل آنان چون آتش است که بسیارش بسوزاند و اندکش سود بخشد.
Do not frequent the company of a wicked person, for if you are bestowed with a blessing, he will envy you and if a misfortune befalls you, he will abandon you.
كُنْ بِالوَحْدَةِ آنَسَ مِنكَ بِقُرَناءِ السُّوءِ.
با تنهایی انس‌گیرتر باش تا با همنشینان بد.
Do not acquire more ‘worldly’ brothers, for if you become incapable of fulfilling their wishes they turn into enemies; and their example is like the example of fire – a lot of it burns and a little of it benefits.
كُنْ بِعَدُوِّكَ العاقِلِ أوثَقَ مِنْكَ بِصَديقِكَ الجاهِلِ
به دشمنِ خردمندت دلگرم‌تر باش تا به دوستِ نادانت.
Take comfort for yourself in solitude rather than bad company.
كُلَّما طالَتِ الصُّحْبَةُ تَأكَّدتِ الحُرْمَةُ.
هر چه همنشینی درازتر شود، حرمت استوارتر شود.
Be more confident of your intelligent foe than your ignorant friend.
لِكُلِّ شَيْء آفَةٌ وآفَةُ الْخَيْرِ (الخَيِّرِ) قَرينُ السُّوءِ.
هر چیزی را آفتی است و آفتِ خیر [نیکوکار] همنشینِ بد است.
Whenever the companionship prolongs, the [mutual] respect is affirmed.
