ما حُرِسَتِ النِّـعَمُ بِمِثْلِ الشُّكْرِ.
هیچ‌چیز نعمت‌ها را چون سپاسگری پاسبان ندارد.
Nothing guards blessings like gratitude.
ما أعْظَمَ نِعَمَ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ فِي الدُّنيا وما أصْغَرَها في نِعَمِ الآخِرَةِ.
چه بزرگ‌اند نعمت‌هایِ خداوند سبحان در دنیا و چه کوچک‌اند در برابرِ نعمت‌هایِ آخرت.
How great are the blessings of Allah, the Glorified, in this world, yet how small they are in comparison to the blessings of the Hereafter.
ما أقْرَبَ النَّعِيمَ مِنَ البُؤْسِ.
چه نزدیک است نعمت به بلا (بُؤس)!
How close bounty is to woe!
ما أنْعَمَ اللّهُ عَلى عَبْد نِعْمَةً فَظَلَمَ فِيها إلاّ كانَ حَقِيقاً أنْ يُزِيلَها عَنْهُ.
خداوند بر بنده‌ای نعمتی ن افزوده و او در آن ستم کرده، مگر آنکه سزاوار است که آن را از او برباید.
Allah has not bestowed any blessing on a servant who then does injustice with it but that he becomes deserving of it being taken away from him by Allah.
نِعَمُ الجُهّالِ كَرَوْضَة عَلى مَزْبَلَة.
نعمت‌هایِ نادانان، چون باغی بر چاه‌پلاکی (مزبله) است.
The blessings of the ignorant are like a garden on a cesspit.
نِعْمَةٌ لاتُشْكَرُ كَسَيِّئَة لاتُغْفَرُ.
نعمتی که سپاسگزار نشود، چون بدی‌ای است که آمرزیده نشود.
The blessing that is not appreciated is like the evil that is not forgiven.
نِعَمُ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ أكْثَرُ مِنْ أنْ تُشْكَرَ إلاّ ما أعانَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وذُنُوبُ ابْنِ آدَمَ أكْثَرُ مِنْ أنْ تُغْفَرَ إلاّ ما عَفَا اللّهُ عَنْهُ.
نعمت‌هایِ خداوند سبحان، بیش از آن‌اند که سپاسگزار شوند، جز آنچه را خداوند به آن یاری دهد و گناهانِ فرزندِ آدم، بیش از آن‌اند که آمرزیده شوند، جز آنچه را خداوند ببخشد.
The blessings of Allah, the Most High, are greater than can be appreciated, except with the help of Allah, and the sins of mankind are greater than can be forgiven, except what Allah pardons [out of His mercy].
نَسْألُ اللّهَ سُبْحانَهُ لَمِنَّتِهِ تَماماً وبِحَبْلِهِ اِعْتِصاماً.
از خداوند سبحان، کمالِ نعمت (لَمِنَّه) و چسبیدن به طنابش را می‌جوییم.
We ask Allah, the Glorified, for the completion of His favours [upon us] and for the ability to hold on to His rope.
لاتُضِعْ نِعْمَةً مِنْ نِعَمِ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ عِنْدَكَ ولْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أثَرَ ما أنْعَمَ اللّهُ بِهِ عَلَيْكَ.
نعمتی از نعمت‌هایِ خداوند سبحان را نزدِ خود ضایع مکن و اثرِ آنچه را که خداوند به تو نعمت کرده بر تو دیده شود.
Do not waste any of the blessings that Allah, the Glorified, has blessed you with, and let the effect of what He has blessed you with be visible on you.
لاتُحاطُ النِّـعَمُ إلاّ بِالشُّكْرِ.
نعمت‌ها، جز به سپاسگری پاسبان نشوند.
Blessings are not guarded but by gratitude.
يَاابْنَ آدَمَ إذا رَأَيْتَ اللّهَ سُبْحانَهُ يُتابِـعُ عَلَيْكَ نِعَمَهُ فَاحْذَرْهُ وحَصِّنَ النِّـعَمَ بِشُكْرِها.
ای فرزندِ آدم! چون دیدی که خداوند سبحان نعمت‌هایش را بر تو پی در پی می‌رساند، از او بپرهیز (برحذر باش) و نعمت‌ها را با سپاسگزاری از آن‌ها پاسبان دار.
Son of Adam, when you see Allah, the Glorified, continuously sending you His blessings then beware of Him, and secure the blessings by being grateful for them.
أقَلُّ ما يَجِبُ لِلْمُنْعِمِ أنْ لا يُعْصى بِنِعْمَتِهِ.
کمترین چیزی که بر نعمت‌دهنده واجب است آن است که به نعمتش گناه نکنند.
The least that is owed to the one who bestows blessings is that no sin should be committed with his blessing.
إنَّ مِنَ النِّعْمَةِ تَعَذُّرُ المَعاصِي.
همانا از نعمت، ناتوان‌شدن از گناه‌هاست.
Verily the inability to commit sins is a blessing.
بِقَدْرِ السُّرُورِ اَلتَّنْغيصُ.
به اندازهٔ خوشی، تلخی (تنغیص) هست.
To the extent of happiness there is trouble.
لالَذَّةَ بِتَنْغِيص.
با تلخی (تنغیص)، لذتی نیست.
There is no pleasure with trouble.
كُلُّ شَيْء يَنْفُرُ مِنْ ضِدِّهِ.
هر چیزی از ضدّش می‌گریزد (نفرت می‌کند).
Everything is averse to its opposite.
عَرِّجُوا عَنْ طَريقِ المُنافَرَةِ وضَعُوا تِيجانَ الْمُفاخَرَةِ.
از راهِ نفرت (دوری) یکدیگر بگردید و تاج‌هایِ فخرواری را فروبگذارید.
Turn away from the path of mutual aversion and abandon the crowns of boastfulness.
اَلنَفْسُ الْكَريمَةُ لاتُؤَثِّرُ فِيهَا النَّكِباتُ.
نفسِ بزرگوار، به مصیبت‌ها تأثر نمی‌پذیرد.
The noble soul is not affected by misfortunes.
اَلنَّفْسُ الشَّريفَةُ لاتَثْقُلُ عَلَيْهَا المَؤُناتُ.
نفسِ شریف، بارِ گذراندنِ روزگار (مؤونات) بر او سنگین نمی‌شود.
The honourable soul does not find it difficult to [spend wealth in order to] acquire provisions.
