حکمت ۲۳۰۱ — موضوع ۱۳۷ · WisdomSaying 2301 — Wisdomمِنَ الحِكْمَةِ أنْ لاتُنازِعَ مَنْ فَوْقَكَ، ولاتَسْتَذِلَّ مَنْ دُونَكَ، وَلاتَتَعاطى ما لَيْسَ في قُدْرَتِكَ، ولا يُخالِفَ لِسانُكَ قَلْبَكَ، ولاقَوْلُكَ فِعْلَكَ، ولاتَتَكَلَّمَ فِيما لاتَعْلَمُ، ولاتَتْرُكَ الأمـْرَ عِنْدَ الإقْبالِ، وتَطْلُبَهُ عِنْدَ الإدْبارِ.
از حکمت است که با بالادستت منازعه نکنی و زیردستت را خوار نشماری و به آنچه در توانت نیست دست نیازی و زبانت با دلت و گفتارت با کردارت مخالف نباشد و در آنچه ندانی سخن نگویی و چون کار رو کند آن را وانگذاری و چون پشت کند طلبش کنی.
It is from [the dictates of] wisdom that you should not dispute with the one who is above you; you should not humiliate the one who is below you; you should not pursue that which is not in your ability; you should not let your tongue go against [what is in] your heart, nor let your words go against your deeds; you should not speak about that which you have no knowledge of; and you should not leave the matter when it comes in front of you and seek it when it has passed.
حکمت ۲۳۰۲ — موضوع ۱۳۷ · WisdomSaying 2302 — Wisdomمَجْلِسُ الحِكْمَةِ غَرْسُ (عُرْسُ) الفُضَلاءِ.
مجلسِ حکمت بوستانِ [یا جشنِ] فاضلان است.
Gatherings of wisdom are the plantations of the praiseworthy.
حکمت ۲۳۰۳ — موضوع ۱۳۷ · WisdomSaying 2303 — Wisdomلاتَسْكُنُ الحِكْمَةُ قَلْباً مَعَ شَهْوَة.
حکمت در دلی با شهوت ساکن نشود.
Wisdom does not reside in a heart [that is filled] with lust.
حکمت ۲۳۰۴ — موضوع ۱۳۷ · WisdomSaying 2304 — Wisdomلاحِكْمَةَ إلاّ بِعِصْمَة.
حکمتی نیست مگر با مصونیت.
There is no wisdom except with safeguarding [from sin].
حکمت ۲۳۰۵ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2305 — The Wiseاَلْحُكَماءُ أشْرَفُ النّاسِ أنْفُساً، وأكْثَرُهُمْ صَبْراً، وأسْرَعُهُمْ عَفْواً، وَأوْسَعُهُمْ أخْلاقاً.
فرزانگان شریف‌ترینِ مردم جان‌ها و بردبارترینِ آنان و شتابنده‌ترینِ آنان در گذشت و فراخ‌ترینِ آنان اخلاق‌اند.
The wise are the most honourable of all people, the most patient of them, the quickest of them in forgiving and the best of them in character.
حکمت ۲۳۰۶ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2306 — The Wiseاَلْحَكِيمُ يَشْفِي السّائِلَ، ويَجُودُ بِالفَضائِلِ.
فرزانه پرسشگر را شفا دهَد و به فضایل ببخشد.
The wise person cures the asker [of his ignorance] and is generous with virtues.
حکمت ۲۳۰۷ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2307 — The Wiseجالِسِ الحُكَماءَ يَكْمُلْ عَقْلُكَ، وتَشْرُفْ نَفْسَكَ، ويَنْتَفِ عَنْكَ جَهْلُكَ.
با فرزانگان همنشین باش تا خِرَدت کامل شود و جانت شریف گردد و نادانی‌ات از تو دور شود.
Sit in the company of the wise and your intelligence will be improved, you will ennoble yourself and your ignorance will be removed from you.
حکمت ۲۳۰۸ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2308 — The Wiseقَدْ يَزِلُّ الحَكِيمُ.
بسا که فرزانه بلغزد.
A wise person may [at times also] make a mistake.
حکمت ۲۳۰۹ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2309 — The Wiseلَيْسَ بِحَكِيم مَنْ شَكى ضُـرَّهُ إلى غَيْرِ رَحيم.
فرزانه نیست آن که دردش را به غیرِ مهربان شکایت کند.
He who complains of his troubles to one who is not compassionate is not a wise person.
حکمت ۲۳۱۰ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2310 — The Wiseلَيْسَ بِحَكِيم مَنِ ابْتذَلَ بِانْبِساطِهِ إلى غَيْـرِ حَمِيم.
فرزانه نیست آن که با بی‌پروایی‌اش نزد غیرِ خویشاوندِ نزدیک، خود را ارزان سازد.
He who expresses his joy to one who is not his close friend is not a wise person.
حکمت ۲۳۱۱ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2311 — The Wiseلَيْسَ بِحَكِيم مَنْ قَصَدَ بِحاجَتِهِ غَيْـرَ حَكِيم (كَرِيم).
فرزانه نیست آن که نیازش را به غیرِ فرزانه [یا کریم] بَرَد.
He who intends to take his request to one who is not wise (or generous) is not a wise person.
حکمت ۲۳۱۲ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2312 — The Wiseمَنْ كَشَفَ عَنْ مَقالاتِ الحُكَماءِ اِنْتَفَعَ بِحَقائِقِها.
هر که مقالاتِ فرزانگان را بشکافد، از حقیقت‌هایشان بهره‌مند شود.
One who unveils the words of the wise benefits from their hidden meanings.
حکمت ۲۳۱۳ — موضوع ۱۳۸ · The WiseSaying 2313 — The Wiseإنَّ كَلامَ الحَكِيمِ إذا كانَ صَواباً كانَ دَواءً، وإذا كانَ خَطاءً كانَ داءً.
سخنِ فرزانه چون صواب باشد دارو است و چون خطا باشد درد.
Indeed the speech of a wise person, when it is correct, is a cure and when it is wrong, is a malady.
حکمت ۲۳۱۴ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2314 — Government And Sovereigntyاَلطّاعَةُ جُنَّـةُ الرَعِيَّةِ، والعَدْلُ جُنَّـةُ الدُّوَلِ.
اطاعت سپرِ رعیت است و عدالت سپرِ دولت‌ها.
Obedience is the shield of the people and justice is the shield of governments.
حکمت ۲۳۱۵ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2315 — Government And Sovereigntyاَلذُّلُّ بَعْدَ العَزْلِ يُوازي عِزَّ الوِلايـَةِ.
خواریِ پس از عزل، هم‌سنگِ عزِّ ولایت است.
The disgrace after being deposed is equal to the glory of sovereignty.
حکمت ۲۳۱۶ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2316 — Government And Sovereigntyاِسْتِكانَةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الْعَزْلِ، بِقَدْرِ شَـرِّهِ فِي الوِلايـَةِ.
فروتنیِ مرد در عزل، به اندازهٔ بدیِ او در ولایت است.
The humiliation of the man being deposed is equivalent to his evil as a sovereign.
حکمت ۲۳۱۷ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2317 — Government And Sovereigntyإعْدِلْ فِيما وُلِّيتَ، أُشْكُرْ لِلّهِ فِيما أُولِيتَ.
در آنچه بدان گماشته شدی عدالت ورز تا در آنچه به تو داده شد سپاسِ خدا گزاری.
Be just in that which you have been given authority and thank Allah for that which has been granted to you.
حکمت ۲۳۱۸ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2318 — Government And Sovereigntyأُحْرُسْ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ سُلْطانِكَ، واحْذَرْ أنْ يَحُطَّكَ عَنْها التَّهاوُنُ عَنْ حِفْظِ ما رَقاكَ إلَيْهِ.
جایگاهت را نزد فرمانروایت نگه‌دار و بترس که سهل‌انگاری در نگاهداریِ آنچه بدان بالایت برد، فروت اندازد.
Protect your status near your king and be cautious not to be belittled due to [your] negligence in protecting that which elevated you to it.
حکمت ۲۳۱۹ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2319 — Government And Sovereigntyأقِمِ النّاسَ عَلى سُنَّتِهِمْ ودِينـِهِمْ، وَلْيَأْمَنْكَ بَرِئُهُمْ،وَ لْيَخَفْكَ مُرِيبُهُمْ، وَتَعاهَدْ ثُغُورَهُمْ وأطْرافَهُمْ.
مردم را بر سنت و دینشان نگاه دار و باید بی‌گناهشان از تو ایمن باشد و گنهکارشان از تو بترسد و مرزها و اطرافشان را به یاد آور.
Direct the people [based] on their practices and religions; let the innocent from among them be safe [from your wrath] and let the suspicious ones be afraid of you, and protect their frontiers and borders.
حکمت ۲۳۲۰ — موضوع ۱۳۹ · Government And SovereigntySaying 2320 — Government And Sovereigntyإجْعَلِ الدّينَ كَهْفَكَ، والعَدْلَ سَيْفَكَ، تَنْجُ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوء، وتَظْفَرْ (تَظْهَرْ) على كُلِّ عَدُوّ.
دین را غارت کن و عدالت را شمشیرت تا از هر بدی نجات یابی و بر هر دشمنی پیروز شوی.
Make the religion your refuge and justice your sword, [then] you will be safe from every evil and will triumph over every foe.
