كَمْ مِنْ خائِف وَفَدَ بِهِ خَوفُهُ على قَرارَةِ الأمْنِ.
چه بسیار ترسانی که ترسش آنان را به قرارگاهِ ایمنی رساند!
How many a fearful person has been taken to a place of safety by his fear.
مَنْ هابَ خابَ.
هر که بیم کند، ناامید شود.
One who fears, fails.
مَنْ لَمْ يُخِفْ أحَداً لَمْ يَخَفْ أبَداً.
هر که کسی را نترساند، هرگز نترسد.
One who does not frighten others will never be frightened [by anyone].
مَنْ أخافَكَ لِكَى يُؤْمِنَكَ خَيْـرٌ لَكَ مِمَّنْ يُؤْمِنُكَ لِكَىْ يُخيفَكَ.
آن که بترساندت تا ایمنت کند، برایت بهتر است از آن که ایمنت کند تا بترساندت.
One who frightens you [from committing sins] in order to protect you [from punishment] is better than one who gives you a [false] sense of security on order that you may become frightened.
لِلْخائِبِ الآئِسِ مَضَضُ الهَلاكِ.
ناکامِ نومید را سوزشِ هلاکت است.
For the frustrated and hopeless one there is the anguish of ruin [and loss].
اَلخَيرُ لا يَفْنى.
خیر فانی نشود.
Good does not perish.
اَلخَيْـرُ أسْهَلُ مِنْ فِعلِ الشَّـرِّ.
خیر آسان‌تر است از کردارِ شرّ.
Good is easier [to do] than an evil action.
آفَةُ الخَيْرِ قَرينُ السُّوءِ.
آفتِ خیر همنشینِ بد است.
The bane of goodness is an evil companion.
إذا عَقَدْتُمْ على عَزائِمِ خَيْر فَامْضُوها.
چون بر عزم‌های خیر گره زدید، به انجامشان رسانید.
When you make the intention of doing good, then execute it.
إذا رَأيْتُمُ الخَيـْرَ فَخُذُوا بهِ.
چون خیر را دیدید، به آن گیرید.
When you witness [a] good [deed] then take to it.
ثَلاثٌ هُنَّ جِماعُ الخَيرِ: إسْداءُ النِّعَمِ، ورِعايَةُ الذِّمَمِ، وصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ.
سه چیز است که گردآورندهٔ خیرند: نعمت‌بخشی و پاسداریِ حرمت‌ها و صلهٔ رحم.
Three things consolidate that which is good: bestowing favours, guarding [one’s] sureties and keeping ties with near relatives.
جِماعُ الخَيرِ فيِ العَمَلِ بِما يَبْقى، والاسْتِهانَةِ بِما يَفنى.
گردآوریِ خیر در عمل به آنچه ماند و سبک‌شمردنِ آنچه فانید.
Consolidation of good is in acting on that which lasts and making light of that which perishes.
أصلِح المُسيئَ بِحُسْنِ فِعالِكَ ودُلَّ عَلَى الخَيـْرِ بِجَميلِ مَقالِكَ.
بدکار را با نیکوکردارت نیکو کن و با گفتارِ زیبات به خیر راهنمایی کن.
Reform the evildoer with your good actions and guide [others] towards good by your beautiful [and kind] words.
اِفْعَلِ الخَيرَ ولا تُحَقِّرْ مِنْهُ شَيْئاً، فَإنَّ قَليلَهُ كَثيرٌ وفاعِلَهُ مَحبُورٌ.
خیر کن و چیزی از آن را خوار مشمار؛ چرا که اندکش بسیار است و کردارش گرامی.
Do good and do not consider any of it insignificant, for verily little of it is plenty and its doer is happy [in the Hereafter].
أكثِرْ سُرُورَكَ على ما قَدَّمْتَ مِنَ الخَيرِ، وحُزْنَكَ على ما فاتَ مِنْهُ.
شادی‌ات را بر خیری که پیش فرستادی و اندوهت را بر آنچه از آن گذشت فزون کن.
Increase your gladness for that which you have sent forth of good deeds and [increase] your sadness for that which you have missed from it.
أعْجَلُ الخَيـْرِ ثَواباً البِرُّ.
شتابنده‌ترینِ خیرها در پاداش نیکی است.
The good deed that brings the quickest reward is piety.
إنَّ ما تُقَدِّمُ مِنْ خَيْر يَكُنْ لَكَ ذُخْرُهُ، وما تُؤَخِّـرُهُ يَكُنْ لِغَيْرِكَ خَيْرُهُ.
آنچه از خیر پیش فرستی، اندوخته‌اش تو راست و آنچه به تأخیر اندازی، خیرش دیگری راست.
Verily that which you send forth of good actions will be preserved for you and that which you delay [or postpone] will benefit other than you.
إنَّ أفْضَلَ الخَيْرِ صَدَقَةُ السِّـرِّ، وبِرُّ الوالِدَيْنِ، وصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ.
برترینِ خیر صدقهٔ پنهانی و نیکی به پدر و مادر و صلهٔ رحم است.
Indeed the best of good deeds are giving charity anonymously, being good with your parents and keeping ties with near relations.
اِفعَلِ الخَيـْرَ، ولا تَفْعَلِ الشَّـرَّ، فَخَيـْرٌ مِنَ الخَيْرِ مَنْ يَفْعَلُهُ، وشَرٌ مِنَ الشَّـرِّ مَنْ يَأتيهِ بِفِعْلِهِ.
خیر کن و شرّ مکن؛ پس از خیر بهتر آن است که آن را کند و از شرّ بدتر آن است که به کردارش آید.
Do good and do not commit evil acts, for the one who performs a good deed is better than it and the one who commits an evil act is more evil than it.
