اَلإصرارُ يُوجِبُ النّارَ.

اصرار آتش آرَد.

Persistence [in sinning] leads one to hellfire.

اَلمُعْلِنُ بِالمَعْصِيَةِ مُجاهِرٌ.

آشکارکنندهٔ معصیت جرأت‌کننده است.

The one who openly declares his sin is an advertiser [of his disobedience to Allah].

اَلمَعصِيَةُ تَفْريطُ الفَجَرَةِ (العَجَزَةِ).

معصیت کوتاهیِ فجّار است [یا ناتوانان].

Disobedience [to Allah] is the negligence of the vicious (or the weak).

اَلمَعْصيَةُ تَمْنَعُ الإجابَةَ.

معصیت اجابت را باز دارد.

Sin prevents the one’s supplication from being answered.

اَلإصْرارُ شَرُّ الآراءِ.

اصرار بدترینِ رای‌هاست.

Persistence [in sinning] is the worst of ideas.

اَلإصْرارُ أعْظَمُ حَوْبَةً.

اصرار بزرگ‌ترینِ گناه است.

Persistence [in sinning] is the gravest of sins.

اَلإصرارُ سَجِيَّةُ الهَلْكى.

اصرار سرشتِ هلاک‌شدگان است.

Persistence [in sinning] is the trait of the doomed.

اَلعِقابُ ثِمارُ السَّيـِّئاتِ.

کیفر میوهٔ بدی‌هاست.

Retribution is the fruit of misdeeds.

اَلمَعْصِيَةُ تَمْنَعُ الإجابَةَ.

معصیت اجابت را باز دارد.

Persistence [in sinning] brings [divine] wrath.

اَلإصرارُ يَجْلِبُ النِّقْمَةَ.

اصرار انتقام آرَد.

Disobedience [to Allah] brings retribution.

اَلمَعْصِيَةُ تَجْتَلِبُ العُقُوبَةَ.

معصیت کیفر آرَد.

Returning to sin [and repeating it] is persistence [in sinning].

المُعاوَدَةُ إلَى الذَّنْبِ إصْرارٌ.

بازگشت به گناه اصرار است.

Persistence [in sinning] is the gravest sin and the quickest in [bringing] retribution.

اَلإصرارُ أعْظَمُ حَوْبَةً، وأسْرَعُ عُقُوبَةً.

اصرار بزرگ‌ترینِ گناه و شتابنده‌ترینِ کیفر است.

Keeping away from vices is more important [and better] than earning good deeds.

اِجْتِنابُ السَّيـِّئاتِ أوْلى مِنِ اكْتِسابِ الحَسَناتِ.

پرهیز از بدی‌ها سزاوارتر است از اندوختنِ نیکی‌ها.

If you must, by all means, be pure, then purify yourselves from vices of the hearts.

إنْ كُنتُمْ لامُحالَةَ مُتَنَزِّهينَ، فَتَنَزَّهُوا عَنْ مَعاصِي القُلُوبِ.

اگر ناگزیر به پاک‌شمردنید، از معاصیِ دل‌ها پاک شوید.

If you must, by all means, be clean, then clean yourselves from the filth of flaws and vices.

إنْ كُنْتُمْ لا مُحالَةَ مُتَطَهِّرينَ، فَتَطَهَّرُوا مِنْ دَنَسِ العُيُوبِ وَالذُّنوبِ.

اگر ناگزیر به پاک‌شدنید، از آلایشِ عیب‌ها و گناهان پاک شوید.

If you purify yourselves from vices, Allah will love you.

إنْ تَنَزَّهُوا عَنِ المَعاصي يُحبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ.

اگر از معاصی پاک شوید، خدا دوستتان دارد.

Verily if you keep away from vices you will attain elevated ranks.

إنَّكَ إنِ اجْتَنَبْتَ السَّيـِّئاتِ نِلْتَ رَفيعَ الدَّرَجاتِ.

اگر از بدی‌ها بپرهیزی، درجه‌های بلند یابی.

The bane of obedience is insubordination.

آفَةُ الطّاعَةِ العِصْيانُ.

آفتِ طاعت نافرمانی است.

When you commit a sin then be remorseful for it.

إذا قارَفْتَ ذَنْباً فَكُنْ عَلَيْهِ نادِماً.

چون گناهی مرتکب شوی، بر آن پشیمان باش.

It is through disobedience [to Allah] that wretchedness comes about.
