مَنْ ضَيَّعَهُ الأقْرَبُ، اُقيحَ لَهُ الأبْعَدُ.
هر که نزدیک‌ترش تباهش کند، دورترش [برای آسیب] به او گشاده شود.
One who is neglected by the near one is [made dear to and] supported by the distant [unrelated] one.

مَنْ جَفا أهْلَ رَحِمِهِ، فَقَدْ شانَ كَرَمَهُ.
هر که با خویشاوندش جفا کند، کرامتش را زشت ساخته است.
One who wrongs his near relative has indeed disgraced his honour.
مِنَ الكَرَمِ صِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ.
از کرامت است صلهٔ رحم.
Part of honour is keeping ties with near relatives.
في صِلَةِ الرَّحِمِ حِراسَةُ النِّعَمِ.
در صلهٔ رحم پاسداریِ نعمت‌هاست.
In keeping ties with near relatives there is the safeguarding of blessings.
في قَطيعةِ الرَّحِمِ حُلُولُ النِّقَمِ.
در بریدنِ رحم فرودآمدنِ انتقام‌هاست.
In cutting off ties with near relatives there is the coming down of [divine] retributions.
وَصِلَةَ الأرْحامِ مَنْماةً لِلْعَدَدِ.
و صلهٔ رحم را که شمارگان را برویاند.
Keeping ties with near relatives is a means of growing the numbers.
قَطيعةُ الرَّحِمِ تَجْلُبُ النِّقَمَ.
بریدنِ رحم انتقام‌ها آرَد.
Cutting off ties with near relatives brings [divine] retributions.
قَطيعَةُ الرَّحِمِ مِنْ أقْبَحِ الشِّيَمِ.
بریدنِ رحم از زشت‌ترینِ خوی‌هاست.
Cutting off ties with near relatives is one of the ugliest practices.
قَطيعةُ الرَّحِمِ تُزيلُ النِّعَمَ.
بریدنِ رحم نعمت‌ها را زایل کند.
Cutting off ties with near relatives causes the cessation of blessings.
لَيْسَ مَعَ قَطيعَةِ الرَّحِمِ نَماءٌ.
با بریدنِ رحم رشدی نیست.
There is no increase [in wealth] with cutting off ties with near relatives.
لَيْسَ لِقاطِعِ رَحِم قَريبٌ.
برندهٔ رحم را خویشاوندی نیست.
No one is considered close by the one who cuts off ties with his near relatives.
لَيْسَ مِنَ الكَرَمِ قَطيعةُ الرَّحِمِ.
از کرامت نیست بریدنِ رحم.
It is not part of honour to cut off ties with near relatives.
أكْرِمْ عشيَرتََكَ فَإنَّهُمْ جَناحُكَ الَّذي بِهِ تَطيرُ، وأصْلُكَ الَّذي إلَيهِ تَصيرُ، ويَدُكَ الَّتي بِها تَصُولُ.
خویشانت را گرامی دار؛ چرا که آنان بالِ تویند که بدان پرانی و ریشه‌ات که به آن رسی و دستِ تویند که بدان یورش بری.
Honour your family, for indeed they are your wings by which you fly, and your origin to which you return, and your hand by which you attack [the enemy].
أكْرِمْ ذَوي رَحِمِكَ، ووَقِّرْ حَليمَهُمْ، واحْلُمْ عَنْ سَفيِهِهِمْ وتَيَسَّرْ لِمُعسِرِهِمْ، فَإنَّهُمْ لَكَ نِعْمَ العُدَّةُ فِي الشِدَّةِ والرَّخاءِ.
خویشاوندانت را گرامی دار و بردبارشان را توقیر کن و از سبک‌مغزشان بردباری کن و برای تنگدستشان آسان گیر؛ چرا که آنان برایت چه نیکو توشه‌ای‌اند در سختی و آسایش.
Honour your near relatives, revere the forbearing from among them, be patient with the foolish among them and lighten the burden for the poor among them, for verily they are the best means of support [and assistance] in times of difficulty and ease.
أفْضَلُ الشِّيَمِ صِلَةُ الأرْحامِ.
برترینِ خوی‌ها صلهٔ رحم است.
The best practice is keeping ties with near relatives.
إنَّ الرَّحِمَ إذا تماسَّتْ تَعاطَفَتْ.
رحم چون به هم رسد، مهربان شود.
Indeed when near relatives are in contact, they become kind to each other.
إنَّ صِلَةَ الأرْحامِ لَمِنْ مُوجِباتِ الإسْلامِ، وإنَّ اللّهَ سُبحانَهُ أمَرَ بِإكْرامِها، وإنَّهُ تعالى يَصِلُ مَنْ وَصَلَها، ويَقْطَعُ مَنْ قَطَعَها، ويُكْرِمُ مَنْ أكرَمَها.
صلهٔ رحم از موجباتِ اسلام است و خدای سبحان به گرامی‌داشتش فرمان داده و تعالی آن که وصلش کند وصل کند و آن که بگسلدش بگسلد و آن که گرامی‌ش دارد گرامی دارد.
Verily keeping ties with near relatives is from the obligatory acts of Islam, and Allah, the Glorified, has commanded that they should be honoured, and He, the Most High, keeps ties with the one who keeps ties with them and cuts off ties with the one who cuts off ties with them and honours the one who honours them.
التَّجَنّي أوَّلُ القَطيعَةِ.
بهانه‌جویی آغازِ بریدن است.
Making false accusations is the first step in cutting off ties.
ألا لايَعدِلَنَّ أحَدُكُمْ عَنِ القَرابَةِ، يَرى بِهَا الخَصاصَةَ أنْ يَسُدَّها بِالَّذي لايَزيدُهُ إنّ أمْسَكَهُ ولايَنْقُصُهُ إنْ أنْفَقَهُ.
آگاه باشید! هیچ‌یک از شما از خویشاوندی که در آن نیازمندی بیند، روی مگرداند که با آنچه اگر نگهش دارد نیندازدش و اگر انفاقش کند نکاهدش، آن را بپوشاند.
Beware! None of you should ever abandon [any of] his near relatives whom he finds in [a state of] poverty and [neither should he] desist in helping them with that which will not increase if he withholds it nor will it decrease if he spends it.
التَّجَنّي رَسُولُ القَطيعَةِ.
بهانه‌جویی فرستادهٔ بریدن است.
