الرِّفْقُ بِالأتْباعِ مِنْ كَرَمِ الطِّباعِ.

مهربانی با پیروان از کرامتِ طبع‌هاست.

Being lenient with one’s subjects [and dependents] stems from an honourable disposition.

إذا عاقَبْتَ فَارْفُقْ.

چون کیفر دهی، مهربان باش.

When you punish, be lenient.

رِفْقُ المَرْءِ وسَخاؤُهُ يُحَبِّبُهُ إلى أعْدائِهِ.

مهربانیِ مرد و بخشندگی‌اش او را حتی به دشمنانش محبوب کند.

The gentleness of a person and his generosity endear him to his enemies.

عَلَيكَ بِالرِّفْقِ فَإنَّهُ مِفْتاحُ الصَّوابِ وسَجِيَّةُ اُولِى الألبابِ.

بر تو باد مهربانی؛ چرا که کلیدِ صواب و سرشتِ خردمندان است.

Adopt leniency, for indeed it is the key to rightness and the quality of the people of understanding.

عَلَيكَ بِالرِّفقِ، فَمَنْ رَفَقَ في أفعالِهِ تَمَّ أمْرُهُ.

بر تو باد مهربانی؛ پس هر که در کارهایش مهربانی کند، کارش تمام شود.

Adopt gentleness, for whoever is gentle in his actions, his matters will be [successfully] completed.

كَمْ مِنْ صَعْب تَسْهَلُ بِالرِّفْقِ.

چه بسیار سختی که به مهربانی آسان شود!

لِيَكُنْ أحْظَى النَّاسِ عِندَكَ أعْمَلَهُمْ بِالرِّفقِ.

باید نزدیک‌ترینِ مردم نزد تو آن باشد که بیشتر به مهربانی عمل کند.

Let the most favoured of people in your sight be the one who is the most lenient in his actions.

لِنْ لِمَنْ غالَظَكَ فَإنَّهُ يُوشِكُ أنْ يَلينَ لَكَ.

با آن که با تو سختی کند نرم باش؛ چرا که نزدیک است برایت نرم شود.

Be gentle with the one who is harsh with you, for he will soon become gentle with you.

مَنْ تَرَفَّقَ فِي الأُمورِ، أدْرَكَ أَرَبَهُ مِنْها.

هر که در کارها نرمی کند، خواسته‌اش از آن به دست آید.

One who proceeds with leniency in his matters, acquires his objectives from them.
