السَّكينَةُ عُنْوانُ العَقْلِ.
آرامش نشانهٔ خِرَد است.
Calmness is a sign of intelligence.
اَلوَقارُ بُرْهانُ النُّبْلِ.
وقار دلیلِ بزرگواری است.
Solemnity is evidence of nobility.
إنْ تَوَقَّرْتَ أُكْرِمْتَ.
اگر باوقار باشی، گرامی شوی.
If you act with solemnity you will be honored.
بِالوَقارِ تَكْثُرُ الهَيْبَةُ.
به وقار هیبت فزون شود.
Through solemnity, one’s reverence increases.
عَلَيْكَ بِالسَّكينَةِ فَإنَّها أفْضَلُ زينَة.
بر تو باد آرامش؛ چرا که نیکوترینِ زیور است.
Espouse calmness, for indeed it is the best embellishment.
كُنْ فِي المَلاءِ وَقُوراً، وَكُنْ فِي الخَلاءِ ذَكُوراً.
در میانِ جمع باوقار باش و در خلوت یادکننده.
Be solemn when among the people and oft-remembering [of Allah and His bounties] when alone.
لِتَكُنْ شيمَتُكَ الوَقارَ فَمَنْ كَثُرَ خُرْقُهُ اُسْتُرْذِلَ.
خویت باید وقار باشد؛ چرا که هر که تندی‌اش فزون شود، خوار شمارندش.
Let solemnity be your trait, for one whose silliness increases is scorned.
مَنْ تَوَقَّرَ وُقِّرَ.
هر که باوقار شود، توقیرش کنند.
One who acts with solemnity is revered.
مَنْ كَثُرَ وَقارُهُ، كَثُرَتْ جَلالَتُهُ.
هر که وقارش فزون شود، بزرگی‌اش فزون شود.
One whose solemnity increases, his exaltedness increases.
مُلازَمَةُ الوَقارِ تُؤْمِنُ دَناءَةَ الطَّيْشِ.
همیشگی‌بودن در وقار از پستیِ سبکی ایمنی دهد.
Espousing solemnity protects one from the lowliness of impetuousness.
نِعْمَ الشّيمَةُ السَّكينَةُ.
چه نیکو خویی است آرامش!
Calmness is an excellent quality.
نِعْمَ الشّيمَةُ الوَقارُ.
چه نیکو خویی است وقار!
Solemnity is an excellent trait.
وَقارُ الرَّجُلِ يَزينُهُ، وخُرْقُهُ يَشينُهُ.
وقارِ مرد بیارایدش و تندی‌اش زشتش سازد.
The solemnity of a man adorns him and his silliness tarnishes him.
وَقارُ الشَّيْبِ(الرَّجُلِ) نُورٌ وزينَةٌ.
وقارِ پیری [یا مرد] نور است و زینت.
The solemnity of an elderly person is a light and an embellishment.
وَقارُ الشَّيْبِ أحَبُّ إلَيَّ مِنْ نَضارَةِ الشَّبابِ.
وقارِ پیری نزد من محبوب‌تر است از طراوتِ جوانی.
The solemnity of old age is more beloved to me than the vigor of youth.
رُبَّ سَلَف (سَلَب) عادَ خَلَفاً.
بسا پیشین [یا غارتی] که جانشین شد.
Many a thing that has been sent ahead (or has been pillaged) returns back [as it was before].
أبْخَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِالسَّلامِ.
بخیل‌ترینِ مردم آن است که بر سلام بخل ورزد.
The most miserly of people is the only who is stingy with his Salām.
بَذْلُ التَّحِيَّةِ مِنْ حُسْنِ الأخْلاقِ والسَّجِيَّةِ.
بخشیدنِ درود از نیکیِ اخلاق و سرشت است.
Offering greetings is one of the virtuous morals and traits.
اَلسِّلْمُ ثَمَرَةُ الحِلْمِ.
آشتی میوهٔ بردباری است.
Peace is the fruit of forbearance.
