مَنْ شَرِهَتْ نَفْسُهُ ذَلَّ مُوسِراً.
هر که جانش آز شود، توانگر باشد و خوار شود.
One whose soul is voracious becomes disgraced despite his affluence.
مادُونَ الشَّرَهِ عَفافٌ.
کمتر از آز پاکدامنی است.
Everything other than voraciousness is chastity.
كُلُّ شَـرَه مُعَنًّي.
هر آزورزی رنجوری است.
Every voracious one is tormented.
لَنْ يُلْقَي الشَّـرَهُ راضِياً.
آز را هرگز خشنود نتوان یافت.
The voracious one will never be seen happy.
اِحْذَرُوا عَدُوّاً نَفَذَ فِي الصُّدُورِ خَفِيّاً، ونَفَثَ فِي الآذانِ نَجِيّاً.
از دشمنی بپرهیزید که به نهفتگی در سینه‌ها رخنه کرد و به گوش‌ها نجوا دمید.
Be cautious of the enemy that enters the breast stealthily and whispers in the ears secretly.
اِحْذَرُوا عَدُوَّ اللّهِ إبْلِيسَ أنْ يُعْدِيَكُمْ بِدائِهِ أوْ يَسْتَفِزَّكُمْ بِخَيْلِهِ ورَجِلِهِ، فَقَدْ فَوَّقَ لَكُمْ سَهْمَ الْوَعيْدِ ورَماكُمْ مِنْ مَكان قَريب.
از دشمنِ خدا ابلیس بپرهیزید که شما را به بیماری‌اش مبتلا سازد یا با سواران و پیادگانش بیازارتان؛ چرا که تیرِ وعید را برایتان تیز کرده و از جای نزدیک به شما انداخته است.
Beware of the enemy of Allah, Iblīs, that he should not infect you with his disease [of evil] or entice you with his cavalry and his infantry, for he has aimed at you with the arrow of [false] threats and shot at you from close range.
جَعَلَهُمْ مَرمى نَبْلِهِ، ومَوْطِأَ قَدَمِهِ، ومَأْخَذَ يَدِهِ.
ایشان را هدفِ تیرهایش و جای پای خود و گرفتارِ دستش قرار داد.
He (Satan) has made them (the people) the target of his arrows, the ground that he steps on and the handle that he holds.
جَعَلُوا (اِتَّخَذُوا)الشَّيْطانَ لأمْرِهِمْ مالِكاً(مِلاكاً)، وجَعَلَهُمْ (اِتَّخَذَهُمْ) لَهُ أشْراكاً، فَفَرَّخَ في صُدُورِهِمْ، وَدَبَّ ودَرَجَ في حُجُورِهِمْ، فَنَظَرَ بِأعْيُنِهِمْ، ونَطَقَ بِألْسِنَتِهِمْ، ورَكِبَ بِهِمُ الزَّلَلَ، وزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْخَطَلَ فِعْلَ مَنْ شَرَكَهُ الشَّيْطانُ في سُلْطانِهِ،وَ نَطَقَ بِالْباطِلِ عَلى لِسانِه.
شیطان را فرمانروای [یا سررشتهٔ] کارشان گرفتند و او آنان را دام‌های [یا جفت‌های] خود ساخت؛ پس در سینه‌هایشان آشیانه گرفت و در آغوش‌هایشان خزید و پله‌پله بالا شد، سپس با چشم‌هایشان نگریست و با زبان‌هایشان سخن گفت و به لغزش‌ها سوارشان کرد و خطاها را برایشان آراست — همچون آن که شیطان در فرمانروایی‌اش شریکش شود و با زبانش به باطل سخن گوید.
They have taken Satan as the overseer of their affairs and he has made them his partners [in crime], so he hatches [his eggs] in their breasts and creeps and crawls into their laps. He sees with their eyes and speaks with their tongues. He leads them to misdeeds and adorns for them idle talk like the action of one whom Satan has made partner in his domain and speaks falsehood through his tongue.
دَعاكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ سُبْحانَهُ فَنَفَرْتُمْ ووَلَّيْتُمْ، وَدَعاكُمُ الشَّيْطانُ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ وَأقْبَلْتُمْ.
پروردگارتان سبحان شما را خواند؛ پس رمیدید و روی گرداندید و شیطان شما را خواند؛ پس اجابت کردید و روی آوردید.
Your Lord, the Glorified, called you but you turned away and fled, and Satan called you so you responded and drew closer [to him].
صافُّوا الشَّيْطانَ بِالْمُجاهَدَةِ، وأغْلِبُوهُ بِالْمُخالَفَةِ تَزْكُوا أنْفُسُكُمْ، وَتَعْلُوا عِنْدَ اللّهِ دَرَجاتُكُمْ.
با شیطان در صفِ مجاهده ایستید و با مخالفت بر او چیره شوید تا جان‌هایتان پاکیزه و درجاتتان نزد خدا بلند شود.
Stand against Satan through struggle and overpower him by opposition, [by doing this] your souls will be purified and your statuses will be elevated in the sight of Allah.
غُرُورُ الشَّيْطانِ يُسَوِّلُ، ويُطْمِعُ.
فریبِ شیطان وسوسه کند و طمع دهد.
The deception of Satan allures and entices.
لا تُطيعُوا الأدْعياءَ الَّذينَ شَـرِبْتُمْ بِصَفْوِكُمْ كَدَرَهُمْ وخَلَطْتُمْ بِصِحَّتِكُمْ مَرَضَهُمْ، وأدْخَلْتُمْ في حَقِّكُمْ باطِلَهُمْ.
از دعواگرانِ دروغینی که با صافیتان کدورتشان را نوشیدید و با تندرستی‌تان بیماریشان را آمیختید و باطلشان را در حقّتان درآوردید اطاعت مکنید.
Do not follow the claimants [of Islam] whose dirty water you drink along with your clean one, whose sicknesses you mix with your health and whose falsehood you allow to enter into your rightful matters.
لا تَجْعَلَنَّ لِلشَّيْطانِ في عَمَلِكَ نَصيباً، وَلا عَلى نَفْسِكَ سَبيلاً.
برای شیطان در عملت بهره‌ای و بر خودت راهی قرار مده.
Never allot a portion for Satan in your actions and do not give him access to your soul.
كُنْ مَشْغُولاً بِما أنْتَ عَنْهُ مَسْؤُلٌ.
مشغولِ آن باش که از آن بازخواست شوی.
Occupy yourself with that which you are answerable for.
مَنِ اشْتَغَلَ بِغَيْرِ المُهِمِّ ضَيَّعَ الأهَمَّ.
هر که به غیرِ مهم بپردازد، اهم را ضایع کند.
One who is occupied by the unimportant loses that which is more important.
شُغِلَ مَنِ الْجَـنَّةُ والنّارُ أمامَهُ.
آن که بهشت و آتش پیشِ رویش هست مشغول است.
He who puts Paradise and hell in front of him is [always] occupied.
شُغِلَ مَنْ كانَتِ النَّجاةُ ومَرْضاتُ اللّهِ مَرامَهُ.
آن که نجات و خشنودیِ خدا مقصودش باشد مشغول است.
He one whose goal is salvation and attaining the pleasure of Allah is [always] occupied.
الشَّفيعُ جَناحُ الطّالِبِ.
شفیع بالِ خواستار است.
The intercessor is the wing of the seeker [which helps him attain what he seeks].
شافِعُ الْمُجْرِمِ خُضُوعُهُ بِالْمَعْذِرَةِ.
شفیعِ گنهکار فروتنی‌اش به عذرخواهی است.
The interceder of a criminal is his humility in seeking pardon.
