اَلشُّكْرُ يُدِرُّ(بَذْرُ) النِّعَمَ.
سپاس نعمت‌ها را می‌افزاید [یا بذرِ نعمت‌هاست].
Gratitude causes blessings to flow forth abundantly.
اَلشُّكْرُ زينَةٌ لِلنَّعْماءِ.
سپاس زینتِ نعمت‌هاست.
Gratitude is an embellishment for blessing[s].
اَلشُّكْرُ حِصْنُ النِّعَمِ.
سپاس دژِ نعمت‌هاست.
Gratitude is the fortress of blessings.
إظْهارُ الْغِنى مِنَ الشُّكْرِ.
نمودنِ توانگری از سپاس است.
Showing [one’s] affluence is from [the ways of showing] gratitude.[^1]
اَلشُّكْرُ تَرْجُمانُ النِّيَّةِ، ولِسانُ الطَّويَّةِ.
سپاس ترجمانِ نیّت و زبانِ درون است.
Gratitude is the interpreter of intention and the tongue of [one’s inner] conscience.
اَلشُّكْرُ زينَةُ الرَّخاءِ، وحِصْنُ النَّعْماءِ.
سپاس زینتِ آسایش و دژِ نعمت است.
Gratitude is the embellishment of comfort and the fortification of blessing.
اَلشُّكْرُ مَأخُوذٌ عَلى أهْلِ النِّعَمِ.
سپاس بر اهلِ نعمت واجب است.
Gratitude is obligatory upon the people of blessings.
إنْ أتاكُمُ اللّهُ بِنِعْمَة فَاشْكُرُوا.
اگر خدا نعمتی‌تان دهد، سپاس گویید.
If Allah bestows you with a blessing then show gratitude.
إنَّما يَنْبَغي لأهْلِ الْعِصْمَةِ والْمَصْنُوعِ إلَيْهِمْ فِي السَّلامَةِ أنْ يَرْحَمُوا أهْلَ المَعْصِيَةِ والذُّنُوبِ، وأنْ يَكُونَ الشُّكْرُ على مُعافاتِهِمْ هُوَ الغالِبَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَالحاجِزَ لَهُمْ.
سزد اهلِ عصمت و آن که در سلامت موردِ صنع قرار گرفته‌اند بر اهلِ معصیت و گناهان رحمت آورند و سپاسِ عافیتشان بر آنان چیره و بازدارنده‌شان باشد.
Verily it behooves those who have been protected [from sins] and have been favored with safety [from misdeeds] to take pity on sinners and other disobedient people; and to make the gratitude for their good state prevail over them and act as a barrier for them.
إذا أُعْطِيتَ فَاشْكُرْ.
چون به تو بخشند، سپاس گوی.
When you are given, show gratitude.
إذا أنْعَمْتَ بِالنِّعْمَةِ فَقَدْ قَضَيْتَ شُكْرَها.
چون با نعمت نعمت بخشی، سپاسش را به جا آورده‌ای.
When you do good to others with a blessing [that you have been bestowed with], then you have shown gratitude for it.
إذا وَصَلَتْ إلَيْكُمْ أطْرافُ النِّعَمِ فَلا تُنَفِّرُوا أقْصاها بِقِلَّةِ الشُّكْرِ.
چون آغازهای نعمت‌ها به شما رسید، دورترینِ آنها را به کمیِ سپاس نرانید.
When the edges of blessings reach you, then do not repel their peaks by lack of gratitude.
بِالشُّكْرِ تَدُومُ النِّعْمَةُ.
به سپاس نعمت پاینده ماند.
Through gratitude, blessing lasts.
بِالشُّكْرِ تُسْتَجْلَبُ الزِّيادَةُ.
به سپاس افزونی فراخوانده شود.
Through gratitude, more is obtained.
ثَمَرَةُ الشُّكْرِ زيادَةُ النِّعَمِ.
میوهٔ سپاس افزونیِ نعمت‌هاست.
The fruit of gratitude is increase in blessings.
حُسْنُ الشُّكْرِ يُوجِبُ الزِّيادَةَ.
نیکوییِ سپاس افزونی را واجب سازد.
Showing gratitude leads to increment.
خَيْرُ الشُّكْرِ ما كانَ كافِلاً بِالمَزيدِ.
بهترینِ سپاس آن است که کفیلِ فزونی باشد.
The best gratitude is that which warrants increase.
دَوامُ الشُّكْرِ عُنْوانُ دَرَكِ الزّيادَةِ.
پایداریِ سپاس نشانهٔ رسیدن به افزونی است.
Constant gratitude is the symbol of obtaining increment.
زِيادَةُ الشُّكْرِ وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ تَزيدانِ النِّعَمَ، وتَفْسَحانِ فِي الأجَلِ.
افزونیِ سپاس و صلهٔ رحم نعمت‌ها را بیفزایند و در اجل گشایش دهند.
Increased gratitude and keeping ties with near relative’s increases sustenance and prolongs [one’s] life.
