حکمت ۵۳۲۱ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5321 — Truthfulnessلَوْ تَمَيَّزَتِ الأشْياءُ لَكانَ الصِّدْقُ مَعَ الشَّجاعَةِ وَكانَ الجُبْنُ مَعَ الكِذْبُ.
اگر چیزها از هم جدا شوند، راستی با شجاعت باشد و ترسویی با دروغ.
If things were to be differentiated from each other, honesty would be with courage and cowardice would be with dishonesty.
حکمت ۵۳۲۲ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5322 — Truthfulnessلِسانُ الصِّدْقِ خَيْرٌ لِلْمَرْءِ مِنَ المالِ يُوَرِّثُهُ مَنْ لايَحْمَدُهُ.
زبانِ راستی برای مرد بهتر است از مالی که آن را به کسی میراث دهد که سپاسش نگزارد.
A goodly mention is better for a person than the wealth that he bequeaths to the one who does not praise him.
حکمت ۵۳۲۳ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5323 — Truthfulnessمَنْ قالَ بِالصِّدْقِ أنْجَحَ.
هر که به راستی سخن گوید، کامیاب شود.
One who speaks the truth becomes successful.
حکمت ۵۳۲۴ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5324 — Truthfulnessمَنْ عُرِفَ بِالصِّدْقِ جازَ كِذْبُهُ.
هر که به راستی شناخته شود، دروغش گذر کند.
Whoever is known for his truthfulness, his lies are [also] accepted.
حکمت ۵۳۲۵ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5325 — Truthfulnessمَنْ جارَ عَنِ الصِّدْقِ ضاقَ مَذْهَبُهُ.
هر که از راستی بگردد، مذهبش تنگ شود.
Whoever turns aside from truth, his path becomes narrow.
حکمت ۵۳۲۶ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5326 — Truthfulnessمَنْ صَدَقَ مَقالُهُ زادَ جَلالُهُ.
هر که سخنش راست شود، بزرگی‌اش فزون شود.
One whose speech is truthful, his loftiness is increased.
حکمت ۵۳۲۷ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5327 — Truthfulnessما أصْدَقَ المَرْءَ عَلى نَفْسِهِ، وأيُّ شاهِد عَلَيْهِ كَفِعْلِهِ، ولايُعْرَفُ الرَّجُلُ إلاّ بِعِلْمِهِ، كَما لا يُعْرَفُ الغَريبُ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ إلاّ عِنْدَ حُضُورِ الثَّمَرِ، فَتَدُلُّ الأثْمارُ عَلى أُصُولِها، ويُعْرَفُ لِكُلِّ ذي فَضْل فَضْلُهُ كَذلِكَ يَشْرُفُ الكَريمُ بِ آدابِهِ، ويَفْتَضِحُ اللَّئيمُ بِرَذائِلِهِ.
چه راستگوست مرد بر خویشتن و کدام گواهی بر او چون کردارش؟ و مرد جز به دانشش شناخته نشود، چنان که غریبهٔ درخت جز هنگامِ حضورِ میوه شناخته نشود؛ پس میوه‌ها بر اصل‌هایشان دلالت کنند و هر فضیلت‌داری را فضیلتش شناخته شود؛ چنان‌که کریم به ادب‌هایش شریف شود و لئیم به رذیلت‌هایش رسوا شود.
How truthful is a person’s testimony against himself and what witness is there against him better than his own deeds?! A man is not recognized except by his knowledge, just as a strange tree is not known except when it bears fruit, thus the fruits are evidence of its origins. The excellence of every person is known by his merit, and thus the honourable one is distinguished by his morals and the vile one is disgraced by his wickedness.
حکمت ۵۳۲۸ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5328 — Truthfulnessلاتَصْدُقْ مَنْ يُقابِلُ صِدْقَكَ بِتَكْذيبِهِ.
آن را که راستیت را به تکذیب پاسخ دهد راست مشمار.
Do not tell the truth to one who responds to your truth by denying [and belying] it.[^1]
حکمت ۵۳۲۹ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5329 — Truthfulnessلاتُرْجُمانَ أوْضَحُ مِنَ الصِّدْقِ.
هیچ ترجمانی روشن‌تر از راستی نیست.
There is no interpreter clearer than the truth.
حکمت ۵۳۳۰ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5330 — Truthfulnessلا مُخْبـَرَ أفْضَلُ مِنَ الصِّدْقِ.
هیچ خبری برتر از راستی نیست.
There is no report better than the truth.
حکمت ۵۳۳۱ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5331 — Truthfulnessلاسَبيلَ أنْجى مِنَ الصِّدْقِ.
هیچ راهی نجات‌بخش‌تر از راستی نیست.
There is no way that is more rescuing than the truth.
حکمت ۵۳۳۲ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5332 — Truthfulnessلايُغْلَبُ مَنْ يَحْتَجُّ بِالصِّدْقِ.
آن که به راستی حجت آرد، مغلوب نشود.
He who argues with [the support of] truth is not defeated.
حکمت ۵۳۳۳ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5333 — Truthfulnessالصِّدْقُ أفْضَلُ رِوايَة.
راستی برترینِ روایت است.
Truth is the best narration.
حکمت ۵۳۳۴ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5334 — Truthfulnessاَلصِّدْقُ يُنْجيكَ وإنْ خِفْتَهُ.
راستی نجاتت دهد هر چند از آن بیم داری.
The truth saves you, even if you fear it.
حکمت ۵۳۳۵ — موضوع ۳۴۲ · TruthfulnessSaying 5335 — Truthfulnessأقَلُّ شَيْء اَلصِّدْقُ والأمانَةُ. [^1]: Or in another reading: Do not believe the one who responds to your truth by his denial.
کمترینِ چیزها راستی و امانت است.
The least of things [required for salvation] is truthfulness and trustworthiness.
حکمت ۵۳۳۶ — موضوع ۳۴۳ · The TruthfulSaying 5336 — The Truthfulإنَّ الصّادِقَ لَمُكْرَمٌ جَليلٌ، وإنَّ الكاذِبَ لَمُهانٌ ذَليلٌ.
راستگو گرامی و بزرگوار است و دروغگو خوار و ذلیل.
Verily the truthful one is honoured and dignified, and indeed the liar is abased and humiliated.
حکمت ۵۳۳۷ — موضوع ۳۴۳ · The TruthfulSaying 5337 — The Truthfulاَلصّادِقُ مُكْرَمٌ جَليلٌ.
راستگو گرامی و بزرگوار است.
The truthful one is honoured and dignified.
حکمت ۵۳۳۸ — موضوع ۳۴۳ · The TruthfulSaying 5338 — The Truthfulاَلصّادِقُ عَلى شَرَفِ مَنْجاة وَكَرامَة.
راستگو بر بلندایِ نجات و کرامت است.
The truthful one is on the highest rank of salvation and honour.
حکمت ۵۳۳۹ — موضوع ۳۴۳ · The TruthfulSaying 5339 — The Truthfulرُبَّ صادِق مِنْ خَبَرِ الدُّنيا عِنْدَكَ مُكَذَّبٌ.
چه بسا راستگویی که در خبرِ دنیا نزد تو تکذیب شود.
Many a truthful one who informs you about [a matter of] this world may be deemed a liar by you.
حکمت ۵۳۴۰ — موضوع ۳۴۳ · The TruthfulSaying 5340 — The Truthfulكُنْ صادِقاً تَـكُنْ وَفيّاً.
راستگو باش تا وفادار شوی.
Be truthful and you will become loyal.
