حکمت ۵۳۴۱ تا ۵۳۶۰Sayings 5341 to 5360
مَنْ كانَ صَدُوقاً لَمْ يَعْدِمِ الكَرامَةَ.
هر که بسیارراستگو باشد، از کرامت محروم نماند.
One who is always truthful will not be deprived of honour.
مَنْ صَدَقَتْ لَهْجَتُهُ قَوِيَتْ حُجَّتُهُ.
هر که زبانش راست شود، حجتش نیرومند شود.
One whose language is truthful, his proof becomes strong.
مَنْ صَدَقَتْ لَهْجَتُهُ صَحَّتْ حُجَّتُهُ.
هر که زبانش راست شود، حجتش درست شود.
One whose language is truthful, his proof is correct.
مَنْ صَدَقَ نَجا.
هر که راست گوید، نجات یابد.
One who is truthful is saved.
يَبْلُغُ الصّادِقُ بِصِدْقِهِ ما لايَبْلُغُهُ الكاذِبُ بِاحْتِيالِهِ.
راستگو به راستی‌اش به آنچه دروغگو به حیله‌اش نرسد، رسد.
The truthful one achieves with his honesty what the liar cannot achieve with his deception.
يَكْتَسِبُ الصّادِقُ بِصِدْقِهِ ثَلاثاً: حُسْنِ الثِّقَةِ بِهِ، والمَحَبَّةَ لَهُ، وَالمَهابَةَ عَنْهُ.
راستگو به راستی‌اش سه چیز به دست آرد: نیکوییِ اعتماد به او و دوستی‌اش را و هیبتش را.
The truthful one earns three things with his honesty: the virtue of being considered reliable, becoming beloved and being revered.
في تَصارِيفِ الأحْوالِ تُعْرَفُ جَواهِرُ الرِّجالِ.
در دگرگونیِ حال‌ها گوهرهای مردان شناخته شود.
It is during the change of circumstances that the [real] gems among the people are known.
قَدْ يَلينُ الصَّليبُ.
چه بسا سخت [و دشوار] که نرم شود.
The rigid [and difficult person or issue] may become soft.
ثابِرُوا عَلى صَلاحِ المُؤمِنينَ والمُتَّقينَ.
بر صلاحِ مؤمنان و پرهیزکاران پایدار باشید.
Devote yourself to [working for] the welfare of the believers and pious ones.
ما أبْعَدَ الصَّلاحَ مِنْ ذِي الشَّـرِّ الوَقاحِ.
چه دور است صلاح از آن که شرّش بی‌حیا باشد!
How far is probity from the people of evil and impudence!
مَنْ صَلُحَ مَعَ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ لَمْ يَفْسُدْ مَعَ أحَد.
هر که با خدای سبحان نیکو شود، با هیچ‌کس فاسد نشود.
One who is dutiful with Allah, the Glorified, does not spoil [his relationship] with anyone.
إنْ سَمَتْ هِمَّتُكَ لإصْلاحِ النّاسِ، فَابْدَأْ بِنَفْسِكَ فَإنَّ تَعاطيكَ صَلاحَ غَيْرِكَ وأنْتَ فاسِدٌ أكْبَرُ العَيْبِ.
اگر همّتت به اصلاحِ مردم بلند شود، به خود آغاز کن؛ چرا که دست‌یازیدن تو به صلاحِ دیگری در حالی که خود فاسدی، بزرگ‌ترینِ عیب است.
If your zeal for reforming the people becomes heightened, then begin with yourself; for indeed your pursuit for the righteousness of others while you are [yourself] corrupt, is the greatest flaw.
عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ يَتَصَدّى لإصْلاحِ النّاسِ، ونَفْسُهُ أشَدُّ شَيْء فَساداً فلايُصْلِحُها وَيَتَعاطى إصْلاحَ غَيْرِهِ.
در شگفتم از آن که به اصلاحِ مردم کمر بندد و جانش سخت‌ترینِ چیزها فاسد باشد و آن را نیکو نکند و به اصلاحِ دیگری دست یازد.
I am amazed at the one who sets out to reform the people while his own soul is more severely corrupted yet he does not reform it and pursues the reformation of others.
كَيْفَ يَصْلَحُ غَيْرَهُ مَنْ لايُصْلِحُ نَفْسَهُ؟!
آن که جانش را نیکو نکند، چگونه دیگری را نیکو سازد؟!
How can one who does not reform himself reform others?!
أصْلِحْ إذا أنْتَ أفْسَدْتَ، وأتْمِمْ إذا أنْتَ أحْسَنْتَ.
چون فاسد کردی، نیکو کن و چون نیکی کردی، تمامش کن.
Rectify when you have corrupted and complete [your good act] when you have done good.
أدْوَأُ الدَّاءِ الصَّلَفُ.
دردناک‌ترینِ دردها خودپسندی است.
he worst disease is vainglory.
رُبَّ صَلَف أوْرَثَ تَلَفاً.
بسا خودپسندی که هلاکتی به میراث نهد.
Many a [show of ostentation and] vainglory brings about loss.
اَلصَّلاةُ أفْضَلُ القُرْبَتَيْنِ.
نماز برترینِ دو قربت است.
Prayer is the better of the two means of [attaining] nearness [to Allah].
اَلصَّلاةُ حِصْنٌ مِنْ سَطَواتِ الشَّيْطانِ.
نماز دژی است از یورش‌های شیطان.
Prayer is a fortress [that protects] from the influences of Satan.
