حکمت ۵۴۰۱ — خاموشیSaying 5401 — Silenceكُنْ صَمُوتاً مِنْ غَيْرِ عَيّ، فَإنَّ الصَّمْتَ زينَةُ العالِمِ وَسِتْرُ الجاهِلِ.
خاموش باش اما ناتوان از سخن مگو، که خاموشی زیور دانشمند است و پرده نادان.
Be a person of much silence without being inarticulate, for indeed silence is the embellishment of the scholar and the cloak [that hides the ignorance] of the ignorant.
حکمت ۵۴۰۲ — خاموشیSaying 5402 — Silenceمَنْ لَزِمَ الصَّمْتَ أمِنَ المَلامَةَ.
هر که خاموشی پیشه کند، از سرزنش در امان ماند.
One who maintains silence is safe from reproach.
حکمت ۵۴۰۳ — خاموشیSaying 5403 — Silenceمَنْ لَزِمَ الصَّمْتَ أمِنَ المَقْتَ.
هر که خاموشی پیشه کند، از خشم [دیگران] در امان ماند.
One who maintains silence is safe from aversion [and hatred of others].
حکمت ۵۴۰۴ — خاموشیSaying 5404 — Silenceمَنْ أمْسَكَ عَنْ فُضُولِ المَقالِ شَهِدَتْ بِعَقْلِهِ الرِّجالُ.
هر که از زیادی سخن بپرهیزد، مردم به خردمندی‌اش گواهی دهند.
Whoever restrains himself from excessive speech, the people bear witness to his intelligence.
حکمت ۵۴۰۵ — خاموشیSaying 5405 — Silenceمَنْ صَمَتَ سَلِمَ.
هر که خاموش ماند، در امان ماند.
One who remains silent is safe.
حکمت ۵۴۰۶ — خاموشیSaying 5406 — Silenceنِعْمَ قَرينُ الحِلْمِ الصَّمْتُ.
خاموشی چه نیکو همراهِ بردباری است!
How good a companion of forbearance silence is!
حکمت ۵۴۰۷ — خاموشیSaying 5407 — Silenceلاحِلْمَ كَالصَّمْتِ.
هیچ بردباری‌ای چون خاموشی نیست.
There is no forbearance like silence.
حکمت ۵۴۰۸ — خاموشیSaying 5408 — Silenceلاعِبادَةَ كَالصَّمْتِ.
هیچ عبادتی چون خاموشی نیست.
There is no worship like silence.
حکمت ۵۴۰۹ — خاموشیSaying 5409 — Silenceلاوَقارَ كالصَّمْتِ.
هیچ وقاری چون خاموشی نیست.
There is no reverence like silence.
حکمت ۵۴۱۰ — خاموشیSaying 5410 — Silenceلا حافِظَ أحْفَظُ مِنَ الصَّمْتِ.
هیچ نگهبانی نگاه‌دارنده‌تر از خاموشی نیست.
There is no guardian that is more protective than silence.
حکمت ۵۴۱۱ — خاموشیSaying 5411 — Silenceلا خازِنَ أفْضَلُ مِنَ الصَّمْتِ.
هیچ گنجینه‌داری بهتر از خاموشی نیست.
There is no treasurer [and protector of secrets] better than silence.
حکمت ۵۴۱۲ — خاموشیSaying 5412 — Silenceلاخَيْرَ فيِ الصَّمْتِ عَنِ الحِكْمَةِ، كَما أنَّهُ لاخَيْرَ فِي القَوْلِ بِالباطِلِ.
در خاموشی از حکمت خیری نیست، چنان‌که در سخن به باطل نیز خیری نیست.
There is no benefit in remaining silent from wisdom just as there is no good in speaking falsehood.
حکمت ۵۴۱۳ — خاموشیSaying 5413 — Silenceلا خَيْرَ فِي السُّكُوتِ عَنِ الحَقِّ، كَما أنَّهُ لاخَيْرَ فِي القَوْلِ بِالجَهْلِ.
در خاموشی از حق خیری نیست، چنان‌که در سخن‌گفتن از روی نادانی خیری نیست.
There is no good in remaining silent from the truth just as there is no benefit in speech with ignorance.
حکمت ۵۴۱۴ — خاموشیSaying 5414 — Silenceمَنْ سَكَتَ فَسَلِمَ، كَمَنْ تَكَلَّمَ فَغَنِمَ.
آن که خاموش ماند و سلامت بَرَد، چون آن است که سخن گوید و سود بَرَد.
One who remains safe by being silent is like the one who derives benefit by speaking.
حکمت ۵۴۱۵ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5415 — Hardshipsأشَدُّ المَصائِبِ سُوءُ الخَلَفِ.
شدیدترینِ مصیبت‌ها بدیِ جانشین است.
The severest of hardships is [having] evil offspring.
حکمت ۵۴۱۶ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5416 — Hardshipsاَلمَصائِبُ مِفْتاحُ الأجْرِ.
مصیبت‌ها کلیدِ پاداش‌اند.
Hardships are the key to reward.
حکمت ۵۴۱۷ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5417 — Hardshipsاَلثَّوابُ عِنْدَاللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ وتَعالى عَلى قَدْرِ المُصابِ.
پاداش نزد خدای سبحان و تعالی به اندازهٔ مصیبت است.
Reward with Allah, the Glorified, is to the extent of the hardship undergone.
حکمت ۵۴۱۸ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5418 — Hardshipsاَلمُصيبَةُ بِالصَّبْرِ أعْظَمُ المَصائِبِ.
مصیبتِ بی‌صبری بزرگ‌ترینِ مصیبت‌هاست.
The hardship of [lacking] patience is the greatest of hardships.
حکمت ۵۴۱۹ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5419 — Hardshipsاَلمَصائِبُ بِالسَّوِيَّةِ مَقْسُومَةٌ بَيْنَ البَريَّةِ.
مصیبت‌ها به یکسان میانِ آفریدگان تقسیم شده است.
Hardships are divided equally among the creatures.
حکمت ۵۴۲۰ — موضوع ۳۵۲ · HardshipsSaying 5420 — Hardshipsاَلمُصيبَةُ بِالدّينِ أعْظَمُ المَصائِبِ.
مصیبت در دین بزرگ‌ترینِ مصیبت‌هاست.
Hardship in religion is the greatest of hardships.
