حکمت ۶۰۰۱ تا ۶۰۲۰Sayings 6001 to 6020
إنَّ لِلآخِرِ بِالأوَّلِ مُزْدَجَراً.
همانا برای پسینیان در [کار] پیشینیان بازدارنده‌ای است.
Verily for the latter there is an admonishment in the former.
إنَّ ذَهابَ الذّاهِبينَ لَعِبْرَةٌ لِلْقَوْمِ المُتَخَلِّفينَ.
همانا رفتنِ رفتگان برای گروهِ بازمانده عبرتی است.
Verily the passing away of those who depart is a lesson for the community that remains behind.
اَلاِعْتِبارُ يُثْمِرُ العِصْمَةَ.
پندگیری میوهٔ در امان‌ماندن (از خطا) بخشد.
Taking example yields [the fruit of] inerrancy.
اَلزَّمانُ يُريكَ العِبَـرَ.
روزگار عبرت‌ها را به تو نماید.
Time shows you examples.
الاِعْتِبارُ يُفيدُ الرَّشادَ.
پندگیری به رشد سودمند است.
Taking lesson is beneficial in [attaining] right guidance.
إذا أحَبَّ اللّهُ عَبْداً وَعَظَهُ بِالعِبَرِ.
چون خداوند بنده‌ای را دوست دارد، با عبرت‌ها او را پند دهد.
When Allah loves a servant, He gives him direction through examples.
خُلِّفَ لَكُمْ عِبَرٌ مِنْ آثارِ الماضينَ قَبْلَكُمْ لِتَعْتَبِرُوا بِها.
برای شما از آثارِ گذشتگان عبرت‌هایی به جای مانده تا از آن‌ها پند گیرید.
You have been left with examples from the vestiges of those who passed away before you, so take lesson from them.
دَوامُ الاِعْتِبارِ يُؤَدِّي إلَى الاِسْتِبْصارِ، ويُثْمِرُ الاِزْدِجارَ.
پیوسته‌بودنِ پندگیری به بینایی (بصیرت) انجامد و میوهٔ خودداری (از بدی) بخشد.
Continually taking lessons leads to perspicacity and bears the fruit of restraint [from evil].
ذِمَّتي بِما أقُولُ رَهينَةٌ، وأنَا بِهِ زَعيمٌ، إنَّ مَنْ صَـرَّحَتْ لَهُ العِبَرُ عمّا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ المَثُلاتِ، حَجَزَهُ التَّقْوى عَنْ تَقَحُّمِ الشُّبَهاتِ.
مسئولیّتم در برابر آنچه می‌گویم در گرو است و من بدان پای‌بندم؛ همانا هر که عبرت‌ها دربارهٔ عقوبت‌های عبرت‌انگیزی که پیش رویش بوده بر او روشن ساخته، تقوا او را از زدن به شبهه‌ها بازداشته است.
I am bound by responsibility for what I say and am answerable for it. Verily, one for whom examples [of the past] have clearly shown that which was before him of exemplary punishments [given by Allah to wrongdoers] is prevented by God-wariness from falling into dubious [and questionable] actions.
صَدِّقْ بِما سَلَفَ مِنَ الحَقِّ، واعْتَبِرْ بِما مَضى مِنَ الدُّنيا فَإنَّ بَعْضَها يُشْبِهُ بَعْضاً، وآخِرُها لاحِقٌ بِأوَّلِها.
به حقّی که گذشت ایمان آور و از آنچه از این جهان سپری شد پند گیر، که همانا دوره‌ایش همانندِ دیگر است و فرجامش به آغازش می‌رسد.
Attest to the truth that has passed and take lesson from what has elapsed of this world, because indeed its one phase resembles the other and its end catches up to its beginning.
طُولُ الاِعْتِبارِ يَحْدُو عَلَى الاِسْتِظْهارِ.
درازاکشیدنِ پندگیری به احتیاط وا دارد.
The prolonged drawing of lessons [from the past] impels one to be precautious.
في كُلِّ نَظْرَة عِبْرَةٌ.
در هر نگاه عبرتی است.
In every glance there is a lesson.
في كُلِّ اعْتِبار اِسْتِبْصارٌ.
در هر پندگیری بصیرتی است.
In every lesson that is drawn there is discernment.
في تَعاقُبِ الأيّامِ مُعْتَبَرٌ لِلأنامِ.
در پی‌درپیِ روزگار برای مردمان پندی است.
In the succession of days there is lesson for the creatures.
فازَ مَنْ كانَتْ شيمَتُهُ الاِعْتِبارَ، وسَجِيَّتُهُ الاِسْتِظْهارَ.
رستگار شد آن کس که خویش پندگیری و سرشتش احتیاط بود.
Successful is the one who has a habit of taking lesson [from the past] and a tendency towards being precautious.
قَدِ اعْتَبـَرَ مَنِ ارْتَدَعَ.
هر که بازداشته شد، پند گرفت.
He who has been deterred [from evil] has taken lesson [from the past].
قَد اعْتَبَرَ بِالباقي مَنِ اعْتَبرَ بِالماضي.
هر که از گذشته پند گرفت، برای باقیمانده نیز پند گرفت.
He who takes a lesson from the past [that has gone] has taken a lesson for the remaining [future].
كُلُّ يَوْم يُفيدُكَ عِبَراً إنْ أصْحَبْتَهُ فِكْراً.
هر روز اگر با اندیشه همراهش کنی، به تو عبرتی بخشد.
Every day benefits you with lessons if you accompany it with contemplation.
كَفى مُعْتَبَراً لأُولِي النُّهى ما عَرَفُوا.
برای خردمندان، همین که می‌دانند برای پند کافی است.
For the people of intelligence, what they are aware of is enough of a lesson for them.
