هر که دشمنی (تجاوز) بکارد، زیان درو کند.

اَلأخْذُ عَلَى العَدُوِّ بِالفَضْلِ، أحَدُ الظَّفَرَيْنِ.
با دشمن به فضل رفتار کردن، یکی از دو پیروزی است.
Treating the enemy with kindness is one of the two victories.
اَلتَّلَطُّفُ فِي الْحِيلَةِ أجدى مِنَ الوَسيلَةِ.
نرم‌خویی در چاره‌جویی سودمندتر از هر وسیله است.
Being courteous when trying to accomplish something is more effective than other means.
اِسْتَعْمِلْ مَعَ عَدُوِّكَ مُراقِبَةَ الإمكانِ وَانْتِهاضَ الفُرْصَةِ، تَظْفَرْ.
با دشمنت در پیِ امکان باش و از فرصت برخیز، پیروز شوی.
With regards to your enemy, be on the lookout for possibility [of defeating him] and seize opportunity, you will be [thus become] triumphant.
أوْهَنُ الأعْداءِ كَيْداً مَنْ أظْهَرَ عَداوَتَهُ.
ناتوان‌ترین دشمنان در نیرنگ، آن است که دشمنی‌اش را آشکار کند.
The weakest of enemies in plotting is the one who manifests his enmity.
اَلواحِدُ مِنَ الأعْداءِ كَثيرٌ.
یک دشمن بس است.
One enemy is plenty.
اَلاِسْتِصْلاحُ لِلأعْداءِ بِحُسْنِ المَقالِ، وجَمِيلِ الأفْعالِ، أهْوَنُ مِنْ مُلاقاتِهِمْ ومُغالَبَتِهِمْ بِمَضِيْضِ القِتالِ،
اصلاحِ دشمنان با سخنِ نیکو و کردارِ زیبا آسان‌تر از رویارویی و ستیزه با رنجِ جنگ است.
Reforming [and reconciliation with] the enemies through good words and beautiful actions is easier than facing them and combating them with the torment of battle.
مَنِ اسْتَصْلَحَ الأضْدادَ بَلَغَ المُرادَ.
هر که ضدّانش را اصلاح کند، به مراد رسد.
One who reforms [and reconciles with] his opponents attains his goal.
لاتَأمَنْ عَدُوّاً وإنْ شَكَرَ.
از دشمن — گرچه سپاسگزار باشد — در امان مَباش.
Do not consider yourself safe from an enemy, even if he is grateful.
لاتَسْتَصْغِرَنَّ عَدُوّاً وإنْ ضَعُفَ.
دشمن را — گرچه ناتوان باشد — هرگز کوچک مَشمار.
Never underestimate an enemy, even if he is weak.
مُعاداةُ الرِّجالِ مِنْ شِيَمِ الجُهّالِ.
دشمنی‌ورزی با مردم از خویِ نادانان است.
Showing enmity towards the people is a trait of the ignorant ones.
مَنْ سَلَّ سَيْفَ العُدْوانِ قُتِلَ بِهِ.
هر که شمشیرِ تجاوز بکشد، بدان کشته شود.
One who unsheathes the sword of aggression is killed by it.
مَواقِفُ الشَّنَئانِ تُسْخِطُ الرَّحْمنَ، وتَرْضِي الشَّيْطانَ، وتَشينُ الإنْسانَ.
مواضعِ دشمنی و بغض، خدایِ رحمان را خشمگین و شیطان را خشنود و آدمی را رسوا کند.
Stances of [enmity and] hatred anger the Most Merciful, please Satan and disgrace man.
مَنْ بالَغَ فِي الخِصامِ أثِمَ، ومَنْ قَصَّرَ عَنْهُ خُصِمَ.
هر که در دشمنی افراط کند گناه کرد و هر که در آن کوتاهی کند، مغلوب شد.
One who exceeds in [his] animosity has sinned and one who falls short [and does not show enmity when it is required] is defeated.
لايَسْتَطيعُ أنْ يَتَّقِيَ اللّهَ مَنْ خاصَمَ.
آن کس که با مردم خصومت ورزد، نمی‌تواند خدا را پروا کند.
He who has animosity [towards others] is not capable of fearing Allah.
اَلمُخاصَمَةُ تُبْدي سَفَهَ الرَّجُلِ ولاتَزيدُ في حَقِّهِ.
خصومت کودنیِ مرد را آشکار کند و بر حقش نیفزاید.
Quarrels [and disputes] manifest the foolishness of a person and do not increase in his right.
مَنْ كَثُرَ تَعَدِّيهِ (تَعاديهِ) كَثُرَتْ أعاديهِ.
هر که تعدّی (یا دشمنی)اش بسیار شد، دشمنانش فزون گردد.
One whose transgression (or antagonism) increases, his enemies increase.
القُدْرَةُ يُزيلُهَا العُدْوانُ. [^1]: Or: Do not be enemies [of each other] for the [sake of the] blessings of Allah upon you.
قدرت به سببِ تجاوز (ستم) زایل شود.
Power is lost through aggression [and oppression].
اَلاِسْتِغْناءُ عَنِ العُذْرِ أعَزُّ مِنَ الصِّدْقِ.
بی‌نیازی از عذرخواستن ارجمندتر از راستگویی است.
Being needless of offering an excuse is more honourable than truthfulness [in your excuse].[^1]
اَلإعْذارُ يُوجِبُ الاِعْتِذارُ.
عذرآوردن (پوزش‌خواستن) آمرزش را در پی دارد.
Apologizing necessitates pardoning.
