لاتَنْدَمَنَّ عَلى عَفْو، ولاتَبْهَجَنَّ بِعُقُوبَة.
بر گذشت پشیمان مشو و بر کیفر شادمانی مکن.
Never feel regret for forgiving and never be gladdened by punishing.

حکمت ۶۵۰۱ تا ۶۵۲۰Sayings 6501 to 6520
لاتُعاجِلْ الذَّنبَ بِالعُقُوبَةِ، واتْرُكْ بَيْنَهُما لِلْعَفْوِ مَوْضِعاً، تُحْرِزْ بِهِ الأجْرَ والمَثُوبَةَ.
برای گناه شتابِ کیفر مکن و میان آن دو جا برای گذشت باز گذار تا بدان اجر و پاداش بری.
Do not hasten the punishment for a sin and leave room between the two (i.e. the sin and punishment) for forgiveness, through this you will gain recompense and reward.
لاحِلْمَ كالصَّفْحِ.
هیچ بردباری‌ای چون چشم‌پوشی نیست.
There is no clemency like pardon.
لاشَـيْءَ أحْسَنُ مِنْ عَفْوِ قادِر.
هیچ چیز نیکوتر از گذشتِ توانمند نیست.
There is nothing better than the forgiveness of a powerful person.
لايُقابَلُ مُسىِءٌ قَطُّ بِأفْضَلَ مِنَ العَفْوِ عَنْهُ.
در برابر بدکار، هرگز چیزی بهتر از گذشتن از او نیست.
A wrongdoer can never be faced with anything better than being shown forgiveness.
يُعْجِبُني مِنَ الرَّجُلِ أنْ يَعْفُوَ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَهُ، ويَصِلَ مَنْ قَطَعَهُ، ويُعْطِيَ مَنْ حَرَمَهُ، ويُقابِلَ الإساءَةَ بِالإحْسانِ.
مرا خوش آید که مرد از آن‌که بر او ستم کرده درگذرد و با آن‌که او را بریده پیوند کند و به آن‌که او را محروم کرده ببخشد و بدی را به نیکی پاسخ دهد.
It pleases me for a person to forgive the one who oppresses him, to establish ties with the one who cuts him off, to give the one who deprives him and to respond to evil with goodness.
أعْطِ النّاسَ مِنْ عَفْوِكَ وصَفْحِكَ، مِثْلَ ما تُحِبُّ أنْ يُعْطِيَكَ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ، وعلى عَفْو فَلاتَنْدَمْ.
از گذشت و درگذشت خود به مردم همان‌قدر ببخش که دوست داری خدای سبحان به تو ببخشد، و بر هیچ گذشتی پشیمان مشو.
Give people your forgiveness and pardon just as you would like Allah, the Glorified, to grant [it] to you, and never regret showing forgiveness [to others].
اَكْرِمْ مَنْ وَدَّكَ، واصْفَحْ عَنْ عَدُوِّكَ، يَتِمَّ لَكَ الفَضْلُ.
آن‌که تو را دوست دارد گرامی دار و از دشمنت درگذر تا فضیلت برایت تمام شود.
Honour the one who loves you and pardon your enemy, [for by this] virtue will become complete for you.
أحْسَنُ أفْعالِ المُقْتَدِرِ العَفْوُ.
نیکوترین کار توانمند، گذشت است.
The best act of a person in power is to forgive.
أوْلَى النّاسِ بِالعَفْوِ أقْدَرُهُمْ عَلَى العُقُوبَةِ.
سزاوارترینِ مردم برای گذشت، آن‌که بر کیفر دادن تواناتر است.
Of all people, the most behoving of [granting] forgiveness is the one who has the greatest power to punish.
أوْلَى النّاسِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ المُحْتاجُ إلَيْها.
سزاوارترینِ مردم به رحمت، آن‌که خود به آن نیازمند است.
The most deserving of [showing] mercy is the one who [himself] is in need of it.
أحْسَنُ مِنِ اسْتِيفاءِ حَقِّكَ العَفْوُ عَنْهُ.
نیکوتر از ستاندنِ تمام حقت، گذشتن از آن است.
Better than seeking your right is to forgive [and forego] it.
أحْسَنُ المَكارِمِ عَفْوُ المُقْتَدِرِ، وجُودُ المُفْتَقِرِ.
نیکوترینِ مکارم، گذشتِ توانمند و جوانمردیِ نیازمند است.
The best of high morals is the forgiveness of the powerful and the generosity of the poor.
أحْسَنُ العَفْوِ ما كانَ عَنْ قُدْرَة.
نیکوترینِ گذشت آن است که از روی قدرت باشد.
The best forgiveness is that which is shown despite having power [to exact revenge].
أعْرَفُ النّاسِ بِاللّهِ أعْذَرُهُمْ لِلنّاسِ، وإنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ لَهُمْ عُذْراً.
شناساترینِ مردم به خدا آن‌که برای مردم بیشتر عذر قائل شود، هرچند برایشان عذری نیابد.
From the people, the one who is most cognizant of Allah is the one who is most forgiving to the people, even if he does not find them having any excuse.
إنَّ مُقابَلَةَ الإساءَةِ بِالإحْسانِ، وتَغَمُّدَ الجَرائِمِ بِالغُفْرانِ، لَمِنْ أحْسَنِ الفَضائِلِ، وأفْضَلِ المَحامِدِ.
به‌راستی که برابریِ بدی با نیکی، و پوشاندن جرم‌ها با گذشت، از نیکوترین فضیلت‌ها و ستوده‌ترین خصلت‌هاست.
Verily, confronting evil with good and the covering up wrongs with forgiveness are from the best virtues and the most praiseworthy qualities.
إنَّ مَنْ أعْطى مَنْ حَرَمَهُ، وَوَصَلَ مَنْ قَطَعَهُ، وعَفى عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَهُ، كانَ لَهُ مِنَ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ الظَّهيرُ والنَّصيرُ.
هر که به آن‌که محرومش کرده ببخشد و با آن‌که او را بریده پیوند کند و از آن‌که بر او ستم کرده درگذرد، خدای سبحان پشت و پناهش خواهد بود.
Verily, he who gives to the one who deprives him, establishes ties with the one who cuts him off and forgives the one who oppresses him, will find in Allah, the Glorified, a Supporter and a Helper.
اَلعَفْوُ فَضيلَةٌ.
گذشت فضیلت است.
Forgiveness is a virtue.
اَلعَفْوُ أفْضَل الإحْسانِ.
گذشت برترینِ نیکی است.
Forgiveness is the best good deed.
اَلعَفْوُ زَيْنُ القُدْرَةِ.
گذشت زینت توانایی است.
Forgiveness is the ornament of power.
