إذا كَمُلَ العَقْلُ نَقَصَتِ الشَّهْوَةُ.
چون خِرَد کامل شود، شهوت کم شود.
When the intellect becomes complete, lust diminishes.
بِالعَقْلِ يُسْتَخْرَجُ غَوْرُ الحِكْمَةِ.
به خِرَد ژرفای حکمت بیرون کشیده شود.
It is through the intellect that the deepest wisdom is brought out.
بِالعَقْلِ تُنالُ الخَيْراتُ.
به خِرَد خیرها به دست آید.
Through the intellect, [acts of goodness and] virtues are attained.
بِالعَقْلِ صَلاحُ البَرِيَّةِ.
به خِرَد صلاح آفریدگان است.
Through the intellect, the condition of the creatures is set right.
بِوُفُورِ العَقْلِ يَتَوَفَّرُ الحِلْمُ.
با فزونی خِرَد، بردباری فزون شود.
Through abundant intellect, forbearance becomes abundant.
بِالعُقُولِ تُنالُ ذِرْوَةُ العُلُومِ (الأُمُورِ).
به خِرَدها به بلندای دانش‌ها [یا کارها] رسد.
Through the intellects, the pinnacle of sciences (or matters) is attained.
بِتَرْكِ ما لايَعْنيكَ يَتِمُّ لَكَ العَقْلُ.
به ترک آنچه تو را در آن کاری نیست، خِرَدت کامل شود.
By leaving that which does not concern you, your intellect becomes complete.
بِالعَقْلِ كَمالُ النَّفْسِ.
به خِرَد کمال جان است.
Perfection of the soul is [attained] through the intellect.
بِالعَقْلِ صَلاحُ كُلِّ أمْر.
به خِرَد صلاح هر کار است.
It is through the intellect that every affair is set aright.
تَمامُ العَقْلِ (العَمَلِ) اِسْتِكْمالُهُ.
خِرَد [یا عمل] آن‌گاه تمام است که کامل شود.
The completion of the intellect (or of action) is in its perfection.
تَزْكِيَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَقْلُهُ.
پاکیزگی مرد به خِرَد اوست.
The purification of a man is through his intellect.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ الاِسْتِقامَةُ.
میوهٔ خِرَد استقامت است.
The fruit of intellect is steadfastness [and uprightness].
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ لُزوُمُ الحَقِّ.
میوهٔ خِرَد پایبندی به حق است.
The fruit of intellect is adherence to the truth.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ صُحْبَةُ الأخْيارِ.
میوهٔ خِرَد هم‌نشینی با نیکان است.
The fruit of intellect is association with the virtuous.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ العَمَلُ للنَّجاةِ.
میوهٔ خِرَد کار کردن برای رستگاری است.
The fruit of intellect is working for salvation.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ مُداراةُ النّاسِ.
میوهٔ خِرَد مدارا با مردم است.
The fruit of intellect is being affable with the people.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ الصِّدْقُ.
میوهٔ خِرَد راستی است.
The fruit of intellect is honesty.
ثَمَرَةُ العَقْلِ مَقْتُ الدُّنيا، وَقَمْعُ الهَوى.
میوهٔ خِرَد ناخشنودی از دنیا و مهار هوای نفس است.
The fruit of intellect is aversion to this world and subdual of vain desire.
ثَلاثٌ يُمْتَحَنُ بِها عُقُولُ الرِّجالِ: هُنَّ المالُ، والوِلايَةُ، وَالمُصيبَةُ.
سه چیز است که خِرَد مردم بدان آزموده شود: دارایی، ریاست و مصیبت.
There are three things by which the intellects of people are tested: wealth, authority and adversity.
