حکمت ۶۶۶۱ — خردSaying 6661 — The Intellect

كَفاكَ مِنْ عَقْلِكَ ما أبانَ لَكَ رُشْدَكَ مِنْ غَيِّكَ.

از خِرَدت همینت بس که راستیت را از گمراهیت جدا کند.

It suffices for your intellect to distinguish for you right guidance from error.

حکمت ۶۶۶۲ — خردSaying 6662 — The Intellect

كُنْ لِعَقْلِكَ مُسْعِفاً ولِهَواكَ مُسَوِّفاً.

فریادرسِ خِرَدت باش و هوست را مهلت ده [و فرمانش را به تأخیر انداز].

Be quick to respond to your intellect and delay in responding to your vain desire.

حکمت ۶۶۶۳ — خردSaying 6663 — The Intellect

كُلَّمَا ازْدادَ عَقْلُ الرَّجُلِ قَوِيَ إيمانُهُ بِالقَدَرِ، واسْتَخَفَّ بِالغِيَرِ.

هرچه خِرَد مرد فزون‌تر شود، ایمانش به تقدیر قوی‌تر شود و حوادث [زیان‌بار] را سبک‌تر گیرد.

Whenever the intellect of a person increases, his faith in divine decree becomes stronger and he takes the changing events [that bring worldly loss to him] lightly.

حکمت ۶۶۶۴ — خردSaying 6664 — The Intellect

كَسْبُ العَقْلِ كَفُّ الأذى.

دستاورد خِرَد، بازداشتن آزار است.

The gain of the intellect is refraining from harming others.

حکمت ۶۶۶۵ — خردSaying 6665 — The Intellect

كَيْفِيَّةُ الفِعْلِ تَدُلُّ عَلى كَمِّيَّةِ العَقْلِ، فَأحْسِنْ لَهُ الاِخْتِيارَ، وأكْثِرْ عَلَيْهِ الاِسْتِظْهارَ.

چگونگی کار بر اندازهٔ خِرَد دلالت کند؛ پس [برای آن] نیکو انتخاب کن و احتیاط را بر آن بسیار دار.

The manner of action points to the measure of intelligence, so make good choices for it and be more precautious with regards to it.

حکمت ۶۶۶۶ — خردSaying 6666 — The Intellect

كَسْبُ العَقْلِ اَلاِعْتِبارُ والاِسْتِظْهارُ، وكَسْبُ الجَهْلِ اَلغَفْلَةُ وَاَلاِغْتِرارُ.

دستاورد خِرَد عبرت و احتیاط است، و دستاورد نادانی غفلت و فریب‌خوردن.

The intellect acquires consideration and precaution whereas ignorance earns negligence and deception.

حکمت ۶۶۶۷ — خردSaying 6667 — The Intellect

كَمالُ المَرْءِ عَقْلُهُ وقيمَتُهُ فَضْلُهُ.

کمال انسان خِرَد اوست و ارزش او فضل او.

The perfection of a person is his intellect and his value is his benevolence.

حکمت ۶۶۶۸ — خردSaying 6668 — The Intellect

كَمالُ الإنْسانِ العَقْلُ.

کمال انسان خِرَد است.

The perfection of a human being is his intellect.

حکمت ۶۶۶۹ — خردSaying 6669 — The Intellect

لِكُلِّ شَـيْء غايَةٌ وغايَةُ المَرْءِ عَقْلُهُ.

هر چیزی را غایتی است و غایت انسان خِرَد اوست.

Everything has a pinnacle, and the pinnacle of a person is his intellect.

حکمت ۶۶۷۰ — خردSaying 6670 — The Intellect

لِكُلِّ شَـيْء زَكاةٌ وزَكاةُ العَقْلِ اِحْتِمالِ الجُهّالِ.

هر چیزی را زکاتی است و زکات خِرَد، تحمل نادانان است.

For everything there is an alms-tax and the alms-tax of intelligence is tolerating the ignorant ones.

حکمت ۶۶۷۱ — خردSaying 6671 — The Intellect

لَنْ يُزانَ العَقْلُ حَتّى يُواذِرَهُ الحِلْمُ.

خِرَد آراسته نشود تا بردباری یاورش باشد.

The intellect will never be adorned until it is complemented by forbearance.

حکمت ۶۶۷۲ — خردSaying 6672 — The Intellect

لَوْ صَحَّ العَقْلُ لاغْتَنَمَ كُلُّ امْرِء مَهَلَهُ.

اگر خِرَد سالم بودی، هر کس مهلتش را غنیمت شمردی.

If the intellect was sound, every person would take advantage of [every moment of] his time.

حکمت ۶۶۷۳ — خردSaying 6673 — The Intellect

مَنِ اسْتَرْفَدَ العَقْلَ أرْفَدَهُ.

هر که از خِرَد یاری جوید، یاریش دهد.

One who seeks the support of the intellect is supported by it.

حکمت ۶۶۷۴ — خردSaying 6674 — The Intellect

مَنِ اسْتَعانَ بِالعَقْلِ سَدَّدَهُ.

هر که از خِرَد مدد گیرد، راهش را درست کند.

Whoever seeks assistance from the intellect, it shows him the right direction.

حکمت ۶۶۷۵ — خردSaying 6675 — The Intellect

مَنْ قَلَّ عَقْلُهُ ساءَ خِطابُهُ.

هر که خِرَدش کم است، سخنش زشت است.

One whose intellect is weak has bad oratory.

حکمت ۶۶۷۶ — خردSaying 6676 — The Intellect

مَنْ لاعَقْلَ لَهُ لاتَرْتَجيهِ.

از کسی که خِرَد ندارد، امیدی مدار.

Do not have any expectations from one who has no intellect.

حکمت ۶۶۷۷ — خردSaying 6677 — The Intellect

مَنْ كَمُلَ عَقْلُهُ اِسْتَهانَ بِالشَّهَواتِ.

هر که خِرَدش کامل شود، شهوات را خوار شمارد.

One whose intellect is complete scorns lustful desires.

حکمت ۶۶۷۸ — خردSaying 6678 — The Intellect

مِنْ أوْكَدِ أسْبابِ العَقْلِ رَحْمَةُ الجُهّالِ.

از استوارترین اسباب خِرَد، رحمت بر نادانان است.

One of the most affirming [and effective] means of intelligence is showing compassion to the ignorant ones.

حکمت ۶۶۷۹ — خردSaying 6679 — The Intellect

مِنْ كَمالِ النِّعَمِ وُفُورُ العَقْلِ.

از کمال نعمت‌ها، فزونی خِرَد است.

From the most perfect of blessings is abundance of intellect.

حکمت ۶۶۸۰ — خردSaying 6680 — The Intellect

مِنَ العَقْلِ مُجانَبَةُ التَّبْذِيرِ، وحُسْنُ التَّدْبيرِ.

از خِرَد است دوری از اسراف و نیکو تدبیر کردن.

Keeping away from wastefulness and good management [skills] are from [the fruits of] intelligence.
