حکمت ۶۹۶۱ — دانشSaying 6961 — Knowledge

ثَرْوَةُ العِلْمِ تُنْجي وتَبْقى.

ثروتِ دانش رهایی بخشد و بماند.

The beauty of knowledge is [in] its dissemination, its fruit is [in] acting upon it, and its preservation is [in] placing it with those who are worthy of it.

حکمت ۶۹۶۲ — دانشSaying 6962 — Knowledge

جَمالُ العِلْمِ نَشْرُهُ، وثَمَرَتُهُ العَمَلُ بِهِ، وصِيانَـتُهُ وَضْعُهُ في أهْلِهِ.

زیبایی دانش در نشر آن است و میوه‌اش عمل به آن و پاسداری‌اش نهادنش در دست اهلش.

The best of knowledge is that which gives benefit.

حکمت ۶۹۶۳ — دانشSaying 6963 — Knowledge

خَيْرُ العِلْمِ ما نَفَعَ.

بهترین دانش آن است که سود بخشد.

The best of all knowledge is that which reforms you.

حکمت ۶۹۶۴ — دانشSaying 6964 — Knowledge

خَيْـرُ العُلُومِ ما أصْلَحَكَ.

بهترین دانش‌ها آن است که تو را اصلاح کند.

The best knowledge is that which is accompanied by action.

حکمت ۶۹۶۵ — دانشSaying 6965 — Knowledge

خَيْـرُ العِلْمِ ما قَارَنَهُ العَمَلُ.

بهترین دانش آن است که عمل همراهش باشد.

The best of knowledge is that by which you reform your right guidance, and the worst of it is that by which you corrupt your Hereafter.

حکمت ۶۹۶۶ — دانشSaying 6966 — Knowledge

خَيْرُ العِلْمِ ما أصْلَحْتَ بِهِ رَشادَكَ، وَشَـرُّهُ ما أفْسَدْتَ بِهِ مَعادَكَ.

بهترین دانش آن است که راه‌یافتگی‌ات را بدان اصلاح کنی و بدترینش آن است که آخرتت را بدان تباه کنی.

Take from every knowledge the best of it, for indeed the bee partakes from the most beautiful of every flower, so two precious substances are produced from it: in one of them is a cure for the people (i.e. honey), and the other is a means of illumination (i.e. wax).

حکمت ۶۹۶۷ — دانشSaying 6967 — Knowledge

خُذُوا مِنْ كُلِّ عِلْم أحْسَنَهُ، فَإنَّ النَّحْلَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ كُلِّ زَهْر أزْيَنَهُ، فَيَتَوَلَّدُ مِنْهُ جَوْهَرانِ نَفيسانِ: أحَدُهُما فيهِ شِفاءٌ لِلنّاسِ، والاْخَرُ يُسْتَضاءُ بِهِ.

از هر دانشی نیکوترش را بگیرید که زنبور از هر گلی زیباترش را می‌خورد و از آن دو گوهر گران‌مایه پدید آید: یکی‌اش برای مردم درمان است و دیگری را روشنی‌بخش.

The cornerstone of [all] merits is knowledge.

حکمت ۶۹۶۸ — دانشSaying 6968 — Knowledge

رَأْسُ الفَضائِلِ العِلْمُ.

سرِ فضیلت‌ها دانش است.

Many a knowledge may lead to your misguidance.

حکمت ۶۹۶۹ — دانشSaying 6969 — Knowledge

رُبَّ عِلْم أدَّى إلى مَضَلَّتِكَ.

بسا دانشی که به گمراهیت انجامد.

The alms-tax of knowledge is its dissemination.

حکمت ۶۹۷۰ — دانشSaying 6970 — Knowledge

زَكاةُ العِلْمِ نَشْـرُهُ.

زکات دانش، نشر آن است.

The alms-tax of knowledge is granting it to the one who deserves it and exerting the self to act upon it.

حکمت ۶۹۷۱ — دانشSaying 6971 — Knowledge

زَكاةُ العِلْمِ بَذْلُهُ لِمُسْتَحِقِّهِ، وإجْهادُ النَّفْسِ فيِ العَمَلِ بِهِ.

زکات دانش، بخشیدن آن به اهلش و کوششِ جان در عمل به آن است.

The adornment of knowledge is forbearance.

حکمت ۶۹۷۲ — دانشSaying 6972 — Knowledge

زَيْنُ العِلْمِ اَلحِلْمُ.

زیور دانش، بردباری است.

The cause of fear [of Allah] is knowledge.[^3]

حکمت ۶۹۷۳ — دانشSaying 6973 — Knowledge

سَبَبُ الخَشْيَةِ اَلْعِلْمُ.

مایهٔ خشیت، دانش است.

Ask about that which you must know and cannot be excused for being ignorant about.

حکمت ۶۹۷۴ — دانشSaying 6974 — Knowledge

سَلْ عَمّا لابُدَّ لَكَ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ، وَلاتُعْذَرُ في جَهْلِهِ.

از آنچه باید بدانی و در ندانستنش معذوری، بپرس.

The worst knowledge is that by which you corrupt your right guidance.

حکمت ۶۹۷۵ — دانشSaying 6975 — Knowledge

شَـرُّ العِلْمِ ما أفْسَدْتَ بِهِ رَشادَكَ.

بدترین دانش آن است که راه‌یافتگی‌ات را بدان تباه کنی.

The worst knowledge is knowledge that is not action upon.

حکمت ۶۹۷۶ — دانشSaying 6976 — Knowledge

شَـرُّ العِلْمِ عِلْمٌ لايُعْمَلُ بِهِ.

بدترین دانش، دانشی است که بدان عمل نشود.

There are two things the ends of which can never be reached: knowledge and intellect.

حکمت ۶۹۷۷ — دانشSaying 6977 — Knowledge

شَيْئانِ لاتُبْلَغُ غايَتُهُما: اَلْعِلْمُ، والعَقْلُ.

دو چیز است که به غایتشان نتوان رسید: دانش و خِرَد.

The disgrace of knowledge is boasting.

حکمت ۶۹۷۸ — دانشSaying 6978 — Knowledge

شَيْنُ العِلْمِ الصَّلَفُ.

عیب دانش، خودستایی است.

You must acquire knowledge, for indeed it is an honourable heritage.

حکمت ۶۹۷۹ — دانشSaying 6979 — Knowledge

عَلَيْكَ بِالعِلْمِ فَإنَّهُ وَراثَةٌ كَريمَةٌ.

دانش پیشه کن که میراثی گرامی است.

The knowledge of a hypocrite is [only] on his tongue.

حکمت ۶۹۸۰ — دانشSaying 6980 — Knowledge

عِلْمُ المُنافِقِ في لِسانِهِ.

دانش منافق بر زبانش است.

The knowledge of a believer is [manifested] in his action.
