حکمت ۷۱۴۱ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7141 — The Studentعَلَى المُتَعَلِّمِ أنْ يَدْأبَ نَفْسَهُ في طَلَبِ العِلْمِ، وَلايَمَلَّ مِنْ تَعَلُّمِهِ وَلايَسْتَكْثِرُ ما عَلِمَ.
بر دانشجو است که در طلبِ دانش نفسش را دش بیدارد و نه از آموختنش بگردد و نه آنچه دانسته زیاد بشمارد.
The student must discipline himself in his quest for knowledge and must neither become bored of his studies nor overestimate what he already knows.
حکمت ۷۱۴۲ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7142 — The Studentمَنْ تَعَلَّمَ عَلِمَ.
هر که آموخت، دانست.
One who learns becomes knowledgeable.
حکمت ۷۱۴۳ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7143 — The Studentمَنْ لَمْ يَتَعَلَّمْ لَمْ يَعْلَمْ.
هر که نآموزد، نداند.
One who does not learn does not become knowledgeable.
حکمت ۷۱۴۴ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7144 — The Studentمَنْ تَعَلَّمَ العِلْمَ لِلْعَمَلِ بِهِ لَمْ يُوحِشْهُ كَسادُهُ.
هر که دانش را برای عمل بدان آموخت، از کهنه‌شدنش زده نشود.
One who gains knowledge so that he can act upon it is not distressed by its dullness.
حکمت ۷۱۴۵ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7145 — The Studentمَنْ لَمْ يَتَعَلَّمْ فِي الصِّغَرِ لَمْ يَتَقَدَّمْ فِي الكِبَرِ.
هر که در جوانی نآموزد، در پیری پیش نرود.
One who does not learn in his young age, does not progress in his old age.
حکمت ۷۱۴۶ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7146 — The Studentمَنْ لَمْ يَصْبِرْ عَلى مَضَضِ التَّعْليمِ(التَّعَلُّمِ) بَقِيَ في ذُلِّ الجَهْلِ.
هر که بر سختیِ آموختن صبر نکند، در ذلتِ نادانی بماند.
One who does not bear the hardships of gaining knowledge (or education) remains in the abject ignorance?
حکمت ۷۱۴۷ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7147 — The Studentمَنْ لَمْ يُدْئِبْ (لَمْ يُذِبْ) نَفْسَهُ فِي اكْتِسابِ العِلْمِ لَمْ يُحْرِزْ قَصَباتِ السَّبْقِ.
هر که نفسش را در کسبِ دانش دش نبیدارد، به اوجِ پیشگامی نرسد.
One who does not discipline himself (or spend his life) in acquiring knowledge cannot gain great successes.
حکمت ۷۱۴۸ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7148 — The Studentلايَسْتَنْكِفَنَّ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْلَمُ أنْ يَتَعَلَّمَ.
آن کس که نمی‌داند هرگز از آموختن خجالت نکشد.
The one who does not know must never be too proud to learn.
حکمت ۷۱۴۹ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7149 — The Studentلاتُحَدِّثِ الجُهّالَ بِما لايَعْلَمُونَ فَيُكَذِّبُوكَ بِهِ، فَإنَّ لِعِلْمِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقّاً، وحَقُّهُ عَلَيْكَ بَذْلَهُ لِمُسْتَحِقِّهِ ومَنْعُهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ مُسْتَحِقِّهِ.
به نادانان آنچه را نمی‌دانند مگو تا دروغ‌گویی‌ات کنند، که همانا بر دانشت بر تو حقی است و حقش آن است که به سزاوارش عطا کنی و از غیرِ سزاوار محرومش دار.
Do not speak to the ignorant ones about that which they do not know such that they belie you, for indeed your knowledge has a right over you and its right is that you bestow it to those who are deserving of it and deny it to those who are not deserving of it.
حکمت ۷۱۵۰ — موضوع ۴۳۶ · The StudentSaying 7150 — The Studentلايَتَعَلَّمُ مَنْ يَتَكَبَّرُ.
متکبر نآموزد.
One who is haughty does not learn.
حکمت ۷۱۵۱ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7151 — Age And Lifespanاَلعُمْرُ الَّذي أعْذَرَ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ فيهِ إلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ وأنْذَرَ، السِّتُّونَ.
عمری که خداوند سبحان به فرزندِ آدم تا آن مهلت (عذر) داده و به آن هشدار داده، شصت سال است.
The age up to which Allah, the Glorified, accepts the excuse of human beings and warns them is sixty years.
حکمت ۷۱۵۲ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7152 — Age And Lifespanاَلعُمْرُ الَّذي يَبْلُغُ الرَّجُلُ فيهِ الأشُدَّ، اَلأرْبَعُونَ.
عمری که مرد به آن به قوت (جوان‌مردی) رسد، چهل است.
The age in which a person reaches maturity is forty.
حکمت ۷۱۵۳ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7153 — Age And Lifespanإحْذَرُوا ضِياعَ الأعْمارِ فيما لايَبْقى لَكُمْ، فَفائِتُها لايَعُودُ.
از ضایع‌شدنِ عمرها در آنچه برایتان باقی نمی‌ماند بپرهیزید، که سپری‌شدهٔ آن بازنگرد.
Be wary of wasting your lifetimes in that which will not remain for you, for that which has passed from it does not return.
حکمت ۷۱۵۴ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7154 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ عُمْرَكَ مَهْرُ سَعادَتِكَ، إنْ أنْفَذْتَهُ (أنْفَدْتَهُ) في طاعَةِ رَبِّكَ.
همانا عمرت مَهَرِ سعادتِ توست، اگر آن را در فرمان‌برداریِ پروردگارت جاری کنی.
Verily your lifetime is the dower of your prosperity if you spend it in obedience to your Lord.
حکمت ۷۱۵۵ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7155 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ أنْفاسَكَ أجْزاءُ عُمْرِكَ، فَلا تُفْنِها إلاّ في طاعَة تُزْلِفُكَ.
همانا نفس‌هایت بخش‌های عمرِ توست؛ پس جز در فرمان‌برداری که تو را نزدیک [به خدا] کند به هدر مبر.
Verily your breaths are portions of your life, so do not use them up except in the obedience that brings you closer [to Allah].
حکمت ۷۱۵۶ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7156 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ عُمْرَكَ وَقْتُكَ الَّذي أنْتَ فيهِ.
همانا عمرت همان زمانی است که در آنی.
Verily your lifetime is the time which you find yourself in.
حکمت ۷۱۵۷ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7157 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ عُمْرَكَ عَدَدَ أنْفاسِكَ، وعَلَيْها رَقيبٌ تُحْصيها.
همانا عمرت شمارِ نفس‌های توست و بر آن نگهبانی است که آن‌ها را می‌شمارد.
Verily your lifespan is the number of your breaths, and there is a watcher who counts them.
حکمت ۷۱۵۸ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7158 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ اللَّيْلَ والنَّهارَ مُسْرِعانِ في هَدْمِ الأعْمارِ.
همانا شب و روز شتابان در ویران‌کردنِ عمرها‌اند.
Indeed the night and day are quick in razing the lifetimes.
حکمت ۷۱۵۹ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7159 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ ماضِيَ عُمْرِكَ أجَلٌ، وآتِيَهُ أمَلٌ، والوَقْتُ عَمَلٌ.
همانا گذشتهٔ عمرت اجل است و آیندهٔش امید و حال، عمل.
Indeed your life’s past is that which has come to pass and its future is hope, and the present is [time for] action.
حکمت ۷۱۶۰ — موضوع ۴۳۷ · Age And LifespanSaying 7160 — Age And Lifespanإنَّ غايَةً تَنْقُصُهَا اللَّحْظَةُ، وتَهْدِمُهَا السّاعَةُ، لَحَرِيَّةٌ بِقَصْرِ المُدَّةِ.
همانا عمری که هر لحظه کمش می‌کند و هر ساعت ویرانش می‌سازد، سزاوار است که کوتاه شمارده شود.
Verily the life that is being shortened every moment and being dismantled every hour must be regarded as very short.
