آفَةُ الأعْمالِ عَجْزُ العُمّالِ.

آفتِ کارها، ناتوانیِ کارگرهاست.

The bane of works is the inability of the workers.

حکمت ۷۲۴۲ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7242 — Actions And Deeds

آفَةُ العَمَلِ البِطالَةُ.

آفتِ عمل، بیکاری است.

The bane of action is idleness.

حکمت ۷۲۴۳ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7243 — Actions And Deeds

إذَا ارْتَأيْتَ فَافْعَلْ.

چون اندیشیدی (ارزش‌سنجی کردی) انجامش بده.

When you have considered [the consequences of an action], then do it.

بِحُسْنِ الأفْعالِ يَحْسُنُ الثَّناءُ.

به نیکوییِ اعمال ستایش نیکو گردد.

Through virtuous deeds, praise becomes worthy.

بِالصَّالِحاتِ يُسْتَدَلُّ عَلى حُسْنِ الإيمانِ.

به نیکی‌ها به نیکوییِ ایمان پی برد.

Through righteous deeds, the strength of a believer’s faith is deduced.

بِالعَمَلِ يَحْصُلُ الثَّوابُ لابِالكَسَلِ.

پاداش به عمل حاصل شود، نه به تنبلی.

It is by action, not laziness, that reward is gained.

بِحُسْنِ العَمَلِ تُجْنى ثَمَرةُ العِلْمِ لابِحُسْنِ القَوْلِ.

میوهٔ دانش به عملِ نیکو درو شود، نه به سخنِ نیکو.

It is by good action that the fruit of knowledge is reaped, not by good speech.

بِالعَمَلِ تَحْصُلُ الجَنَّةُ لا بِالأمَلِ.

بهشت به عمل یابند، نه به امید.

It is through action that Paradise is achieved, not through hope.

بِالأعْمالِ الصَّالِحاتِ تُرْفَعُ الدَّرَجاتُ.

به اعمالِ صالح درجه‌ها برافراشته شوند.

By righteous deeds, ranks are raised.

تَأْخِيرُ العَمَلِ عُنْوانُ الكَسَلِ.

تأخیرِ عمل، نشانهٔ تنبلی است.

Delay in action is a symbol of laziness.

تَصْفِيَةُ العَمَلِ أشَدُّ مِنَ العَمَلِ.

خالص‌کردنِ عمل از خودِ عمل سخت‌تر است.

Keeping an action sincere is harder than performing the action itself.

حکمت ۷۲۵۲ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7252 — Actions And Deeds

تَبادَرُوا إلى مَحامِدِ الأفْعالِ، وفَضائِلِ الخِلالِ، وتَنافَسُوا فِي صِدْقِ الأقْوالِ وبَذْلِ الأمْوالِ.

به ستایش‌های اعمال و فضایلِ خوی شتاب کنید و در راستیِ سخنان و بخشیدنِ اموال با یکدیگر رقابت کنید.

Hasten towards praiseworthy actions and virtuous traits, and vie for truthful speech and generous giving.

حکمت ۷۲۵۳ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7253 — Actions And Deeds

ثَمَرَةُ العَمَلِ الأجْرُ عَلَيْهِ.

میوهٔ عمل، پاداشِ بر آن است.

The fruit of [good] action is the [divine] reward given for it.

ثَمَرَةُ العَمَلِ الصّالِحِ كَأصْلِهِ.

میوهٔ عملِ صالح چون اصلش (صالح) است.

The fruit of righteous action is [righteous] like its root.

ثَمَرَةُ العَمَلِ السَّيِّءِ كَأصْلِهِ.

میوهٔ عملِ زشت چون اصلش (زشت) است.

The fruit of evil action is [evil] like its root.

ثَوابُ عَمَلِكَ أفْضَلُ مِنْ عَمَلِكَ.

پاداشِ عملت از خودِ عملت برتر است.

The reward of your action is greater than your action.

حکمت ۷۲۵۷ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7257 — Actions And Deeds

ثَوابُ العَمَلِ عَلى قَدْرِ المَشَقَّةِ فيهِ.

پاداشِ عمل به اندازهٔ سختیِ در آن است.

The reward for an action is to the extent of the difficulty [endured] in it.

حکمت ۷۲۵۸ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7258 — Actions And Deeds

ثَوْبُ العَمَلِ (العِلْمِ) يُخَلِّدُكَ وَلايَبْلى، ويُبْقيكَ ولايَفْنى.

جامۀ عمل (یا دانش) تو را جاودانه کند و فرسوده نشود و تو را بستاند و نفی نشود.

The garment of action (or knowledge) immortalizes you and does not get worn out; it preserves you and does not perish.

حکمت ۷۲۵۹ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7259 — Actions And Deeds

ثابِرُوا عَلَى اغْتِنامِ عَمَل لايَفْنى ثَوابُهُ.

در کسبِ عملی که پاداشش فانی نشود پابند باشید.

Persist in seizing the opportunity of performing the action whose reward does not perish.

حکمت ۷۲۶۰ — موضوع ۴۴۰ · Actions And DeedsSaying 7260 — Actions And Deeds

ثابِرُوا عَلَى الأعْمالِ المُوجِبَةِ لَكُمُ الخَلاصَ مِنَ النّارِ والفَوْزَ بِالجَنَّةِ.

در کارهایی که رهایی از آتش و رستگاری به بهشت را برای شما به ارمغان آورند پابند باشید.

Persist in those actions that cause you to become free from hellfire and attain Paradise.
