طُوبى لِمَنْ كَذَّبَ مُناهُ وأخْرَبَ دُنياهُ لِعِمارَةِ اُخْراهُ.
خوشا آن که آرزویش را دروغ شمارَد و دنیایش را برای آبادانیِ آخرتش ویران کند!
Blessed is he who belies his aspirations and sacrifices his world in order to build his Hereafter.
مَنِاتَّكلَ علَى الأمانيّ ماتَ دُونَ أمَلِهِ.
هر که به آرزوها تکیه کند، پیش از آرزویش بمیرد.
One who relies on his aspirations dies without [realizing] his hopes.
مَنْ وَثِقَ بِالاُمْنِيَّةِ قَطَعَتْهُ المَنيِّةُ.
هر که به آرزو دلگرم شود، مرگ بُرَدش.
One who trusts his aspirations will have them severed by death.
مَنْ قَصُرَ أمَلُهُ حَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ.
هر که آرزویش کوتاه شود، عملش نیکو شود.
Whoever shortens his hopes, beautifies his actions.
مَنْ أطالَ أمَلَهُ أفْسَدَ عَمَلَهُ.
هر که آرزویش را دراز کند، عملش را تباه کند.
Whoever lengthens his hopes, corrupts his actions.
إمامٌ عادِلٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مَطَر وابِل.
پیشوای عادل بهتر از بارانِ سیل‌آساست.
A just leader is better [and more beneficial] than heavy rainfall.
مَنْ أطاعَ إمامَهُ فَقَدْ أطاعَ رَبَّهُ.
هر که پیشوایش را فرمان برد، پروردگارش را فرمان برده است.
One who obeys his Imām has obeyed his Lord.
يَحتاجُ الإمامُ إلى قَلْب عَقُول، ولِسان قَؤُول، وجَنان على إقامَةِ الحَقِّ صَؤُول.
پیشوا نیازمند است به دلی خردمند و زبانی گویا و جانی که بر برپایی حق بتازد.
A leader needs a wise mind, an eloquent tongue and a heart that is steadfast in the establishment of truth.
اَلإمامَةُ نِظامُ الاُمَّةِ.
امامت، نظامِ امت است.
Leadership (imāmah) is a social order.
والإمامَةَ نِظاماً لِلاُْمَّةِ.
و امامت را نظامی برای امت [قرار داد].
Leadership is an organizational structure for the society
مَنْ أجارَ المُسْتَغيثَ، أجارَهُ اللّهُ سُبْحانَه مِنْ عذابِهِ.
هر که فریادخواه را پناه دهد، خدای سبحان او را از عذابش پناه دهد.
Whoever gives refuge to the one who seeks his help, Allah will grant him refuge from His punishment.
مَنْ امَنَ خائفاً مِنْ مَخوفَة، آمَنَهُ اللّهُ سُبْحانَهُ مِنْ عِقابِهِ.
هر که بیمناکی را از بیمش ایمنی بخشد، خدای سبحان او را از کیفرش ایمنی بخشد.
One who protects a fearful person from what he fears, Allah, the Glorified, will protect him from His chastisement.
رُبَّ آمِن وَجِل.
بسا ایمنی که در بیم است.
Many a person who is secure gets frightened.
ما مِنْ شَيْء يَحصُلُ بِهِ الأمانُ أبْلَغَ مِنْ ايمان وإحسان.
هیچ چیز مؤثرتر از ایمان و نیکی برای به دست آوردن ایمنی نیست.
Nothing brings greater security than [having] faith and [performing] good deeds.
واللّهِ ما مَنَعَ الأمْنَ أهْلَهُ، وأزاحَ الحقَّ عَنْ مُسْتَحِقِّهِ إلاّ كُلُّ كافِر جاحِد، ومُنافِق مُلْحِد.
به خدا سوگند، ایمنی را از اهلش باز نداشت و حق را از صاحبش جدا نکرد، مگر هر کافر منکر و هر منافق ملحد.
By Allah, no one hinders the security of the peaceful or takes away the rights of the people except the disbelieving infidel and the duplicitous apostate.
لا تَغْتَرَّنَّ بِالأمْنِ، فَإنَّكَ مَأخُوذٌ مِنْ مَأمَنِكَ.
به ایمنی فریفته مشو که تو را از جای ایمنت بربایند.
Do not be deceived by [a false sense of] security, for you will surely be taken from your sanctuary.
لايَنْبَغي لِلْعاقِلِ أنْ يُقيمَ عَلَى الخَوفِ إذا وَجَدَ إلىَ الأمْنِ سَبيلاً.
خردمند را نشاید که بر خوف بماند اگر به ایمنی راهی یابد.
It is not appropriate for an intelligent person to live in fear when he has found a way to [attain] security.
لا نِعْمَةَ أهْنَأُ مِنَ الأمْنِ.
هیچ نعمتی گواراتر از ایمنی نیست.
There is no blessing better than security.
اَلأمْنُ إغْتِرارٌ، اَلخَوْفُ إسْتِظْهارٌ.
ایمنی فریب‌خوردن است و بیم، پشت‌گرمی.
Security is [a cause of] deception; fear is [a means of] precaution.
