تَنَفَّسُوا قَبْلَ ضيقِ الخِناقِ، وانْقادُوا قَبْلَ عُنْفِ السِّياقِ.
پیش از تنگیِ حلق، نفس بکشید و پیش از خشونتِ جابجایی، تسلیم شوید.
Breathe before the necks are strangled, and yield before being driven violently.

حکمت ۷۹۰۱ تا ۷۹۲۰Sayings 7901 to 7920
خُذُوا مَهَلَ الأيّامِ، وحُوطُواْ قَواصِيَ الإسْلامِ، وبادِرُوا هُجُومَ الحِمامِ.
از مهلتِ روزگاران بهره ببرید، مرزهایِ اسلام را پاسبان دارید و پیش‌دستیِ هجومِ مرگ را انجام دهید.
Take the respite of the days, protect the boundaries of Islam, and anticipate the sudden attack of death.
رَحِمَ اللّهُ امْرَءاً إغْتَنَمَ المَهَلَ، وبادَرَ العَمَلَ، وأَكْمَشَ مِنْ وَجَل.
خداوند بر آن کس که از مهلت بهره بجوید، شتابان عمل کند و از بیم (خدا) بایستد، رحمت کند.
May Allah have mercy on the one who takes the benefit of respite [and opportunity], hastens towards good deeds and cowers out of fear [of Allah].
اَلفُرْصَةُ سَريعَةُ الفَوْتِ، وبَطيئَةُ العَوْدِ.
فرصت، زود از دست می‌رود و دیر برمی‌گردد.
Opportunity is quick to pass on and slow to return.
السّاعاتُ تَخْتَرِمُ الأعْمارَ، وتُدْنِي مِنَ البَوارِ.
ساعت‌ها عمرها را کم و به نابودی نزدیک کند.
The [passing of] hours diminishes lifetimes and bring [one] closer to annihilation.
اِرْتَدْ لِنَفْسِكَ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ نُزُولِكَ، ووَطِّ المَنْزِلَ قَبْلَ حُلُولِكَ.
پیش از روزِ فرودآمدنت برای خویشتن جایگاه برگزین و پیش از رسیدنت سرایت را بیارا.
Arrange an abode for yourself before your descent and prepare the dwelling before your arrival.
اِجْعَل زَمانَ رَخائِكَ عُدَّةً لأيّامِ بَلائِكَ.
زمانِ آسایش‌ات را سازوبرگِ روزهایِ مصیبتت گردان.
Make your time of comfort a [means of] preparation for the days of your tribulation.
اَلفُرَصُ خُلَسٌ.
فرصت‌ها، چیزهایی‌اند که باید گرفته شوند.
Opportunities are things that are [meant to be] seized.
اَلفَوْتُ غُصَصٌ.
از دست دادن‌ها، اندوه‌انگیزند.
Loss [of opportunities] are [a cause of] distress.
اَلفُرْصَةُ غُنْمٌ.
فرصت، غنیمت است.
Opportunity is a booty.
اَلفَوْتُ حَسَراتٌ مُحْرِقاتٌ.
از دست دادن، حسرت‌های سوزان است.
Loss [of opportunity leads to] burning regrets.
اَلفائِتُ لايَعُودُ.
از دست‌رفته، بازنگردد.
The lost [opportunity] does not return.
إضاعَةُ الفُرْصَةِ غُصَّةٌ.
از دست دادنِ فرصت، اندوهناک است.
Losing an opportunity is distressful.
أوْقاتُ السُّرُورِ خُلْسَةٌ.
لحظه‌هایِ شادی، کوتاه و زودگذرند.
Times of happiness are short-lived.
اَلفُرَصُ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحابِ.
فرصت‌ها چون گذرِ ابر بگذرند.
Opportunities pass by like the passing of clouds.
إذا لَمْ يَكُنْ ما تُريدُ فَأَرِدْ ما يَكُونُ.
چون آنچه می‌خواهی نباشد، آنچه می‌شود بخواه (و به آن راضی شو).
When what you want does not happen, then want what happens [and be satisfied with it].
إذا أمْكَنَتِ الفُرْصَةُ فَانْتَهِزْها، فَإنَّ إضاعَةَ الفُرْصَةِ غُصَّةٌ.
چون فرصت ممکن شد، از آن بهرهمند شو، که همانا از دست دادنِ فرصت، اندوهناک است.
When the opportunity arises, then seize it, for indeed wasting an opportunity leads to distress.
اِنْتَهِزُوا فُرَصَ الخَيْرِ فَإنَّها تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحابِ.
فرصت‌هایِ نیکی را به دست آورید، که همانا چون گذرِ ابر بگذرند.
Seize good opportunities, for indeed they pass by [quickly] like the passing of clouds.
أشَدُّ الغُصَصِ فَوْتُ الفُرَصِ.
سخت‌ترینِ اندوه‌ها، از دست دادنِ فرصت‌هاست.
The greatest distress is [caused by] loss of opportunities.
إنَّ ماضِيَ يَوْمِكَ مُنْتَقِلٌ، وباقِيَهُ مُتَّهِمٌ، فَاغْتَنِمْ وَقْتَكَ بِالعَمَلِ.
همانا گذشتهٔ روزت رفته و باقی‌اش نامطمئن است؛ پس زمانت را با عمل بهرهمند شو.
Verily that which has passed from your day has gone, and that which remains from it is not certain, so take advantage of your [present] time by performing [good] actions.
