اَلقَدَرُ يَغْلِبُ الحاذِرَ.

قدر، بر هوشیار (برحذر) چیره شود.

Destiny overpowers the cautious.

اَلاِتِّكالُ عَلَى القَضاءِ أرْوَحُ.

تکیه به قضا، راحت‌بخش‌تر است.

Reliance on [divine] decree is more comforting.

اَلمَقاديرُ لاتُدْفَعُ بِالقُوَّةِ والمُغالَبَةِ.

سرنوشت‌ها (مقادیر) به قدرت و ستیزه دفع نشود.

Devine decree cannot be repelled by strength and struggle.

آفَةُ المَجْدِ عَوائِقُ القَضاءِ.

مانع‌هایِ قضا، آفتِ بزرگی (مجد) است.

The impediments of divine decree are the bane of eminence.

إذا نَزَلَ القَدَرُ بَطَلَ الحَذَرُ.

چون قدر نازل شود، حذر باطل شود.

When the destiny descends, caution becomes nullified.

إذا حَلَّتِ المَقادِيرُ بَطَلَتِ التَّدابِيرُ.

چون مقادیر فروآید، تدابیر باطل شوند.

When divine decree comes, the plans [of people] are nullified.

إذا كانَ القَدَرُ لايُرَدُّ، فَالاِحْتِراسخ باطِلٌ.

چون قدر بازگشتنی نباشد، احتیاط بی‌بهره است.

When destiny cannot be repelled, then cautiousness is futile.

جَعَلَ اللّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْء قَدْراً ولِكُلِّ قَدْر أجَلاً.

خداوند برای هر چیزی مقداری و برای هر مقداری اجلی قرار داده است.

Allah has set for everything a measure, and for every measure a [specified] term.

في تَصاريفِ القَضاءِ عِبْرَةٌ لأُوْلِي الألْبابِ والنُّهى.

در دگرگونی‌هایِ قضا، برای صاحبانِ خرد و درایت عبرتی است.

In the changes brought about by divine decree there is a lesson for the people of reason and intellect.

قَضاءٌ مُتْقَنٌ وعِلْمٌ مُبْرَمٌ.

قضایی درست (مُتقَن) و علمي مبرم است.

The verdict [of Allah] is precise and His knowledge is absolute.

كُلُّ شَيْء فيهِ حيلَةٌ إلاّ القَضاءُ.

هر چیزی چاره‌ای دارد، جز قضا.

Everything has a way out except [what has been decided by] divine decree.

كَيْفَ يَرضى بِالقَضاءِ مَنْ لَمْ يَصْدُقْ يَقينُهُ.

چگونه آن کس که یقینش راست و استوار نیست به قضا راضی شود؟!

How can one whose certitude is not true [and firm] be pleased with the divine decree?

مَنْ غالَبَ الأقْدارَ غَلَبَتْهُ.

هر که بر مقادیر چیره‌جویی کند، بر او چیره شود.

One who seeks to overpower destiny is overcome by it.

مَنْ أيْقَنَ بِالقَدَرِ لَمْ يَكْتَرِثْ بِما نابَهُ.

هر که به قدر یقین کند، به آنچه بر او نازِل شد بی‌اعتنا شود.

One who is certain about destiny is not disturbed by what befalls him.

مَنْ رَضِيَ بِالقَدَرِ لَمْ يَكْرُثْهُ الحَذَرُ.

هر که به قدر راضی شود، بیم (حذر) او را زده نکند.

One who is pleased with what has been destined [for him] is not troubled by warning.

مِحَنُ القَدَرِ تَسْبِقُ الحَذَرَ.

مصایبِ قدر، پیش از حذر برسند.

The tribulations of destiny overtake precaution.

نِعْمَ الطّارِدُ لِلْهَمِّ اَلاِتِّكالُ عَلَى القَدَرِ.

چه نیکو راننده‌ای از اندوه، تکیه بر قدر است.

The best expeller of distress is reliance on divine decree.

نُزُولُ القَدَرِ يَسْبِقُ الحَذَرَ.

نزولِ قدر، پیش از حذر رسد.

The descending of destiny overtakes precaution.

نُزُولُ القَدَرِ يُعْمِى البَصَرَ.

نزولِ قدر، بینایی (بصیرت) را کور کند.

The descending of destiny blinds the sight.

يَجْرِى القَضاءُ بِالمَقاديرِ عَلى خِلافِ الاِخْتِيارِ والتَّدْبيرِ.

قضا به سرنوشت‌ها، برخلافِ اختیار و تدبیر (مردم) جاری شود.

Destiny comes to pass in accordance with divine decree, contrary to the choice and planning [of the people].
