اَلقانِعُ ناج مِنْ آفاتِ المَطامِعِ.
قناعت‌کننده، از آفت‌هایِ طمع نجات یافته است.
The contented one is saved from the woes of covetousness.
اِقْنَعْ تَعُزُّ.
قناعت کن تا عزت مندی.
Be content and you will gain honour.
اِقْنَعْ بِما أُوتِيتَهُ، تَكُنْ مَكْفِيّاً.
به آنچه تو داده شده بسنده کن تا کافی شوی.
Be content with what you are given and you will be made sufficient.
اِقْنَعُوا بِالقَليلِ مِنْ دُنْياكُمْ لِسَلامَةِ ديـنِكُمْ، فَإنَّ المُؤمِنَ اَلبُلْغَةُ اليَسيرَةُ مِنَ الدُّنْيا تُقْنِعُهُ.
به اندکی از دنیا بسنده کنید برای سلامتِ دینتان، که همانا مؤمن را اندکی از دنیا که به دستش رسد بس است.
Be content with little from your worldly possessions for the safety of your religion, for indeed the believer is satisfied with the little that he gets of this world.
أغْنَى النّاسِ القانِعُ.
توانگرترینِ مردم، قناعت‌کننده است.
The wealthiest of all people is the contented one.
اَلْعَبْدُ حُرٌّ ما قَنِعَ، الحُرُّ عَبْدٌ ما طَمِعَ.
بنده تا قناعت کند آزاد است و آزاد تا طاعت (طمع) کند بنده است.
A slave is free as long as he is content and a freeman is a slave as long as he covets.
اَلقَناعَةُ عُنْوانُ(عَوْنُ) الفاقَةِ.
قناعت، یاورِ تهیدستی است.
Contentment is the helper of poverty.[^1]
اَلقَناعَةُ أبْقى عِزّ.
قناعت، ماندگارترینِ عزت است.
Contentment is the most lasting honour.
اَلمُسْتَريحُ مِنَ النّاسِ اَلقانِعُ.
آسوده‌ترینِ مردم، قناعت‌کننده است.
The most at ease among the people is the contented one.
اَلقَناعَةُ عَلامَةُ الأتْقياءِ.
قناعت، نشانهٔ پرهیزگاران است.
