هر که به قناعت پایبند باشد، تهیدستیش زایل شود.

حکمت ۸۴۰۱ تا ۸۴۲۰Sayings 8401 to 8420
مَنْ رَغِبَ في نَعيمِ الآخِرَةِ قَنِعَ بِيَسيرِ الدُّنيا.
هر که به نعمتِ آخرت رغبت کند، به اندکی از دنیا بسنده کند.
One who desires the blessings of the Hereafter is contented with the little [he has] of this world.
مَنْ قَنِعَ بِقِسْمِ اللّهِ اِسْتَغْنى عَنِ الخَلْقِ.
هر که به سهمِ خداوند راضی شود، از مردم بی‌نیاز شود.
One who is contented with the allotment of Allah becomes needless of the people.
مَنِ اكْتَقى بِاليَسيرِ اِسْتَغْنى عَنِ الكَثيرِ.
هر که به اندک بسنده کند، از بسیار بی‌نیاز شود.
One who suffices with little becomes needless of plenty.
مِنْ أكْرَمِ الخُلْقِ التَّحَلّي بِالقَناعَةِ.
از ارجمندترینِ خوی‌ها، آراسته‌شدن به قناعت است.
One of the most honourable morals is adorning oneself with contentment.
مِنْ شَرَفِ الهِمَّةِ لُزُومُ القَناعَةِ.
از بزرگیِ همت، پایبندی به قناعت است.
Remaining contented is from the noble endeavours.
ما أحْسَنَ بِالإنْسانِ أنْ يَقْنَعَ بِالقَليلِ ويَجُودَ بِالجَزيلِ.
چه نیکو است برای آدمی که به اندک بسنده و به فراوان بخشا (بخشد).
How good it is for a person to be contented with little and generous with much!
نِعْمَ الحَـظُّ القَناعَةُ.
چه نیکو بختی قناعت است.
The best fortune is contentment.
نِعْمَ الخَليقَةُ القَناعَةُ.
چه نیکو خویی قناعت است.
The best attribute is contentment.
نالَ العِزَّ مَنْ رُزِقَ القَناعَةَ.
هر که قناعت به او ارزانی داده شود، عزت به دست آورده است.
One who has been granted contentment has acquired honour.
لاكَنْـزَ كَالقَناعَةِ.
هیچ گنجی چون قناعت نیست.
There is no treasure like contentment.
اَلْقَناعَةُ أفْضَلُ الغِنائَيْنِ.
قناعت، به‌ترینِ دو توانگری است.
Contentment is the better of the two riches.
اَلْقَناعَةُ أفْضَلُ العِفَّتَيْنِ.
قناعت، به‌ترینِ دو پاک‌دامنی است.
Contentment is the better of the two forms of continence.
ألا وإنَّ القَناعَةَ، وغَلَبَةَ الشَّهْوَةِ مِنْ أكْبَرِ العِفافِ.
آگاه باشید که قناعت و چیره‌شدن بر هوای نفس، از بزرگ‌ترینِ پاک‌دامنی است.
Indeed contentment and overcoming lustful desires are from the greatest forms of abstinence.
أعْوَنُ شَيْء عَلى صَلاحِ النَّفْسِ القَناعَةُ.
یاری‌کننده‌ترینِ چیز بر اصلاحِ نفس، قناعت است.
The most helpful thing in reforming the self is contentment.
إنَّ فِي القُنُوعِ لَغَناءٌ.
همانا در قناعت، توانگری (بی‌نیازی) هست.
Verily in contentment there is prosperity.
اَلْقَناعَةُ تُغْني.
قناعت، توانگر (بی‌نیاز) کند.
Contentment enriches.
كُلُّ قانِع غَنِيٌّ.
هر قناعت‌کننده توانگر (بی‌نیاز) است.
Every contented one is rich.
مَنْ كَثُرَ قُنُوعُهُ، قَلَّ خُضُوعُهُ.
هر که قناعتش بسیار شود، خضوعش (فروتنی‌اش در برابر مردم) کمتر شود.
One whose contentment increases, his submissiveness [to the people] decreases.
مَنْ قَنِعَ عَزَّ واسْتَغْنى.
هر که قناعت کند، عزت‌مند و بی‌نیاز شود.
One who is content gains honour and becomes independent.
