لاسَبيلَ أشْرَفُ مِنَ الاِسْتِقامَةِ.
هیچ راهی ارجمندتر از استقامت نیست.
There is no path that is nobler than steadfastness.
لامَسْلَكَ أسْلَمُ مِنَ الاِسْتِقامَةِ.
هیچ سیرانی ایمن‌تر از استقامت نیست.
There is no course more secure than steadfastness.
كَيْفَ يَسْتَقيمُ قَلْبُ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَقِمْ دينُهُ.
چگونه دلِ آن کس که دینش استوار نیست استوار گردد؟!
How can the heart of one whose faith is not steadfast be upright?
مَنْ لَزِمَ الاِسْتِقامَةَ لَمْ يََعدِمِ السَّلامَةَ.
هر که به استقامت پایبند باشد، از سلامت خالی نشود.
One who remains steadfast is not bereft of safety.
لايُقيمُ أمْرَ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ إلاّ مَنْ لايُصانِعُ ولايُخادِعُ، ولاتَغُرُّهُ المَطامِعُ.
فرمانِ خداوند سبحان را جز آن کس برپا ندارد که نه چاپلوسی کند و نه فریب دهد و طمع‌ها او را فریب ندهند.
The command of Allah, the Glorified, is not established [and executed] except by one who neither corrupts nor beguiles, nor is he deceived by [that which he] desires.
اَلْقَوِيُّ مَنْ قَمَعَ لَذَّتَهُ.
قوی، آن است که لذتش (هوایش) را فرونشاند.
A strong person is one who subdues his pleasures.
آفَةُ القَوِيِّ اِسْتِضْعافُ الخَصْمِ.
آفتِ قوی، کوچک‌شماردنِ دشمن است.
The bane of the strong person is underestimating the enemy.
إذا قَويتَ فَاقْوِ عَلى طاعَةِ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ.
چون خواستی قوی شوی، در فرمان‌برداریِ خداوند سبحان قوی شو.
When you [wish to] become strong, then be strong in the obedience of Allah, the Glorified.
اَلكِبْرُ داع إلَى التَّقَحُّمِ فِي الذُّنُوبِ.
تکبر (کبر)، به فروافتادن در گناه‌ها فرا بخواند.
Arrogance is an inviter towards plunging into sins.
اَلْكِبْرُ خَلِيقَةٌ مُرْدِيَةٌ، مَنْ تَكَثَّرَ بِها قَلَّ.
تکبر، خویِ هلاک‌آوری است؛ هر که بدان بزرگ‌جوهري (تکثر) کند، کمتر شود.
Arrogance is a destructive trait, one who seeks to increase by it, diminishes.
اَلْكِبْرُ يُساوِرُ القُلُوبَ مُساوَرَةَ السُّمُومِ القاتِلَةِ.
تکبر، دل‌ها را چون سمومِ کشتناک درگیرد.
Arrogance grips the hearts just like a fatal poison.
اِقْمَعُوا نَواجِمَ الفَخْرِ، واقْدِعُوا لَوامِعَ (طَوالِعَ) الكِبْرِ.
جلب‌هایِ فخار را فرونشانید و جلوه‌هایِ (طلوع‌های) کبر را بنشانید.
Suppress the manifestations of pride and restrain the flashes (or risings) of arrogance.
اِحْذَرِ الكِبْرَ فَإنَّهُ رَأْسُ الطُغْيانِ، ومَعْصيَةُ الرَّحْمنِ.
از کبر بپرهیز، که همانا بنیادِ طغیان و گناه (مکروه)ِ رحمان است.
Beware of arrogance, for it is the cornerstone of tyranny and disobedience to the Most Merciful.
إيّاكَ والكِبْرَ، فَإنَّهُ أعْظَمُ الذُّنُوبِ، وألأمُ العُيُوبِ، وهُوَ حِلْيَةُ إبْلِيسَ.
از کبر بپرهیز، که همانا بزرگ‌ترینِ گناهان و پلیدترینِ عیب‌هاست و همانا زیورِ ابلیس است.
Beware of arrogance, for indeed it is the greatest of sins and the vilest of faults, and it is the ornament of the Devil.
إيّاكَ والتَّجَبُّرَ عَلى عِبادِ اللّهِ، فَإنَّ كُلَّ مُتَجَبِّر يَقْصِمُهُ اللّهُ.
از متجبر شدن بر بندگانِ خدا بپرهیز، که هر متجبری را خداوند بشکند.
Beware of behaving haughtily with the servants of Allah, for every haughty one is crushed by Allah.
أقْبَحُ الخُلْقِ التَّكَبُّرُ.
زشت‌ترینِ خوی، تکبر است.
The ugliest character is arrogance.
أكْثَرُ النّاسِ ضَعَةً مَنْ تَعاظَمَ في نَفْسهِ.
پست‌ترینِ مردم، آن است که در خویشتن بزرگ‌جوهري (تعاظم) کند.
The lowliest of all people is one who considers himself to be great.
اَلتَّكَبُّرُ يَضَعُ.
تکبر، خوار کند.
Arrogance humiliates.
اَلتَّكَبُّرُ يَضَعُ الرَّفيعَ.
تکبر، بلندمقام را فروبزند.
Arrogance degrades the elevated.
