اَلْكَرَمُ فَضْلٌ، الوَفاءُ نُبْلٌ.
بخشنده‌بودن، فضیلت و وفاداری، نجابت است.
Munificence is excellence and loyalty is nobility.
اَلْكَرَمُ مَعْدِنُ الخَيْرِ.
بزرگواری، معدنِ نیکی است.
Nobleness is the source of goodness.
اَلْكَرَمُ أفْضَلُ السُّؤْدَدِ.
بخشنده‌بودن، به‌ترینِ سرداری است.
Munificence is the best eminence.
اَلْكَرَمُ أفْضَلُ الشِّيَمِ.
بخشنده‌بودن، نیکوترینِ خوی‌هاست.
Munificence is the best of traits.
اَلْكَرَمُ بَريءٌ مِنَ الحَسَدِ.
بزرگواری، دوری از حسد است.
Nobleness is [being] free from jealousy.
اَلْكَرَمُ اِحْتِمالُ الجَريرَةِ.
بزرگواری، برداشتِ بدی‌ها (جرائر) است.
Nobleness is bearing the wrongdoings [of others].
اَلْكَرَمُ حُسْنُ الاِصْطِبارِ.
بزرگواری، نیکو صبری (صبرِ نیکو) است.
Nobleness is having good patience [and tolerance].
اَلْكَرَمُ تَحَمُّلُ أعْباءِ المَغارِمِ.
بخشنده‌بودن، به‌دوش‌کشیدنِ سنگینیِ دین‌های (بدهی‌های) دیگران است.
Munificence is bearing the [heavy] burdens of [other people’s] liabilities.
اَلْكَرَمُ إيثارُ العِرْضِ عَلَى المالِ.
بزرگواری، مقدّم‌داشتنِ آبرو بر مال است.
Nobleness is preferring dignity over wealth.
اَلْكَرَمُ أعْطَفُ مِنَ الرَّحِـمِ.
بزرگواری، مهربان‌تر از رحم (خویشاوندی) است.
Nobleness is [being] more compassionate than close relatives.
اَلْكَرَمُ مُلْكُ اللِّسانِ وبَذْلُ الإحْسانِ.
بزرگواری، فرمانروایی بر زبان و بخشیدنِ نیکی است.
Nobleness is control over one’s tongue and doing good to others.
اَلْكَرَمُ نَتيجَةُ عُلُوِّ الهِمَّةِ.
بزرگواری، نتیجهٔ بلندیِ همت است.
Nobleness is the result of lofty endeavour [and high resolve].
إنَّما الكَرَمُ اَلتَّنَزُّهُ عَنِ المَعاصي (المَساوي).
بزرگواری جز دوری از گناهان (بدی‌ها) نیست.
Nobleness is nothing but refraining from [committing] sins (or misdeeds).
إنَّما الكَرَمُ بَذْلُ الرَّغائِبِ وإسْعافُ الطّالِبِ.
بخشنده‌بودن جز عطاکردنِ خواسته‌ها و یاریِ طالب نیست.
Munificence is nothing but granting the wishes and fulfilling the needs of the seeker.
ثَمَرَةُ الكَرَمِ صِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ.
میوهٔ بزرگواری، پیوندِ رحم (خویشاوندان) است.
The fruit of nobleness is keeping ties with near relatives.
خَيْرُ الكَرَمِ جُودٌ بِلا طَلَبِ مُكافاة.
به‌ترینِ بزرگواری، بخشندگی بدونِ طلبِ پاداش است.
The best munificence is being generous without seeking [any] recompense.
لَيْسَ مِنَ الكَرَمِ تَنْكيدُ المِنَنِ (النِّعَمِ) بِالمَنِّ.
از بزرگواری نیست که نعمت‌ها (منّ) را با منّت تلخ کند.
It is not from munificence to spoil the favours [one does to others] by [putting them under] obligation.
مِنَ الكَرَمِ إتْمامُ النِّعَمِ.
از بزرگواری، کامل‌کردنِ نعمت‌هاست.
Completion of favours is part of munificence.
مِنَ الكَرَمِ حُسْنُ الشِّيَمِ.
از بزرگواری، نیکوییِ خوی‌هاست.
It is part of nobleness to have good [and praiseworthy] traits.
