حکمت ۹۰۲۱ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9021 — Important Eventsفَاتَّقُوا اللّهَ تَقِيَّةَ مَنْ أنْصَبَ الخَوْفُ بَدَنَهُ، وأسْهَرَ التَّهَجُّدُ غِرارَ نَوْمِهِ، وأظْمَأَ الرَّجاءُ هَواجِرَ يَوْمِهِ.
پس از خدا بپرهیز، به بیمِ آن کس که تنش را بیم خسته کرده و تهجد، سحرخیزی‌اش را بیدار کرده و امید، بیابانِ روزش را تشنه کرده است.
So fear Allah with the fearing of one whose body has become fatigued by fright, and who has been kept awake from his little sleep by his night worship, and who has been made thirsty in the heat of his days by hope [of attaining nearness to Allah].
حکمت ۹۰۲۲ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9022 — Important Eventsفَيا عَجَبا ومالِيَ لاأعْجَبُ مِنْ خَطاءِ هذِهِ الأُمَّةِ (الفِرَقِ) عَلَى اخْتِلافِ حُجَجِها في دِياناتِها (دينِها)، لايَقْتَصُّونَ أثَرَ نَبِىّ، ولايَقْتَدُونَ بِعَمِلِ وَصِىّ، ولايُؤْمِنُونَ بِغَيْب، ولايَعِفُّونَ عَنْ عَيْب، يَعْمَلُونَ فِي الشُّبَهاتِ، وَيَسيرُُونَ فِي الشَّهَواتِ، اَلْمَعْرُوفُ فيهِمْ ما عَرَفُوا، والمُنْكَرُ عِنْدَهُمْ ما أنْكَرُوا، مَفْزَعُهُمْ فِي المُعْضَلاتِ إلى أنْفُسِهمْ، وتَعْويلُهُمْ فِي المُبْهَماتِ عَلى آرائِهِمْ، كَأنَّ كُلاًّ (كُلُّ امْرئ) مِنْهُمْ إمامُ نَفْسِهِ، قَدْ أخَذَ فيما يَرى بِغَيْرِ وَثيقات بَيِّنات، وَلا أسْباب مُحْكَمات.
وای از عجب! و چرا به خطایِ این امت (فرقه‌ها) با دگرگونیِ حجّت‌هایشان در دین‌هایشان عجب نکنم: نه اثرِ پیامبری را می‌پیمایند و نه به عملِ وصی پیروی می‌کنند و نه به غیب ایمان می‌آورند و نه از عیب باز می‌ایستند. در شبهه‌ها کار کنند و در هواها روند. معروف نزدِ ایشان آنچه را که شناخته‌اند و منکر، آنچه را که انکار کرده‌اند. پناهگاهِ آنان در کارهایِ دشوار، به سوی جان‌هایِ خود و تکیه‌گاهشان در ابهام‌ها، بر رأی‌هایِ خود، گویی هر یک از آنان امامِ خویشتن است، حال آنکه در آنچه می‌بیند، بدونِ وثیقِ بینات و بدونِ اسبابِ محکمات [عمل کرده است].
How amazing it is; and why would I not be amazed by the mistake of this community (or these groups) with their different arguments with regards to their religion. They neither follow the footsteps of the Prophet nor do they emulate the actions of the vicegerent. They do not believe in the unseen and do not restrain themselves from [sins and] shortcomings. They act on uncertainties and tread in [the way of] their passions. For them good is whatever they [like and] consider good and evil is whatever they [dislike and] consider evil. Their reliance for resolving problems is on themselves and their confidence in regard to dubious matters is on their own opinions, as if each one of them is his own leader, even though he has formed his opinion without turning to reliable sources and strong proofs.
حکمت ۹۰۲۳ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9023 — Important Eventsقَد ْ صِرْتُمْ بَعْدَ الهِجْرَةِ أعْراباً، وبَعْدَ المُوالاةِ أحْزاباً.
شما پس از هجرت، بدوی (عرب) و پس از وصال، گروه‌هایِ پراکنده شدید.
Indeed, you have again reverted to the position of the Bedouin Arabs after migration [to Islam] and have become [divided into] different parties after once being closely united.
حکمت ۹۰۲۴ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9024 — Important Eventsقَدْ ذَهَبَ مِنْكُمْ الذّاكِرُونَ، والمُتَذَكِّرُونَ، وَبَقيَ النّاسُونَ وَالمُتَناسُونَ.
یادگزاران و پنددهندگان از شما رفته و فراموش‌کاران و فراموشی‌دهندگان باقی ماندند.
Indeed those who [would] remember and remind [the people about Allah] have left you and only those who forget [Allah and the Day of Resurrection] and cause others to forget have remained behind.
حکمت ۹۰۲۵ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9025 — Important Eventsقَدْ قادَتْكُمْ أزِمَّةُ الحَيْنِ، واسْتَغْلَقَتْ عَلى قُلُوبِكُمْ أقْفالُ الرَّيْنِ.
همانا افسارِ هلاکت، شما را می‌کَشد و قفل‌هایِ تاریکی (رَین) بر دل‌هایتان محکم بسته است.
Indeed the reins of destruction are dragging you and locks of darkness [and malice] lay fixed on your hearts.
حکمت ۹۰۲۶ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9026 — Important Eventsقَدْ تَصافَيْتُمْ عَلى حُبِّ العاجِلِ ورَفْضِ الآجِلِ.
شما بر دوست‌داشتنِ عاجل و ردِّ آجل هم‌صدا شده‌اید.
Indeed you have become devoted to one another in the love of this transient world and the rejection of the Hereafter.
حکمت ۹۰۲۷ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9027 — Important Eventsقَدْ صارَ دينُ أحَدِكُمْ لُعْقَةً عَلى لِسانِهِ، صَنيعَ مَنْ فَرَغَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ، وَأحْرَزَ رِضى سَيِّدِهِ.
دینِ یکی از شما، چون لَچکی بر زبانش شده است، کاریِ کسی که از کارش فارغ و خشنودیِ سرورش را به دست آورده است.
Indeed the religion of one among you has become like the licking of his tongue, [or like] the hobby that is pursued by one who is free from his work and has gained the approval of his master.
حکمت ۹۰۲۸ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9028 — Important Eventsقَدْ خاضُوا بِحارَ الفِتَنِ، وأخَذُوا بِالبِدَعِ دُونَ السُّنَنِ، وتَوَغَّلُوا الجَهْلَ، واطَّرَحُوا العِلْمَ.
در دریاچه‌هایِ فتنه‌ها فرو رفتند و به بدعت‌ها به جای سنّت‌ها چسبیدند و در جهل فرو رفتند و دانش را واگذاشتند.
They have plunged into the seas of temptations and have taken to innovation rather than following the practices of the Prophet, and they have gone deep into ignorance while abandoning knowledge.
حکمت ۹۰۲۹ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9029 — Important Eventsلاتَيْأَسْ مِنَ الزَّمانِ إذا مَنَعَ، ولاتَثِقْ بِهِ إذا أعْطى، وكُنْ مِنْهُ عَلى أعْظَمِ الحَذَرِ.
چون روزگار منع کند از آن مأیوس نشو و چون عطا کند بر آن اعتماد مکن و همواره بیش‌ترینِ بیم را از آن داشته باش.
Do not lose hope in time when it withholds, and do not rely upon it when it gives, and always be extremely cautious of it.
حکمت ۹۰۳۰ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9030 — Important Eventsإنَّ الدَّهْرَ يَجْري بِالباقينَ، كَجَرْيِهِ بِالماضينَ، ما يعُودُ ما قَدْ وَلّى، وَلايَبْقى سَرْمَداً ما فيهِ، آخِرُ فِعالِهِ كَأوَّلِهِ، مُتَسابِقَةٌ أُمُورُهُ مُتَظاهِرَةٌ أعْلامُهُ، لايَنْفَكُّ مُصاحِبُهُ مِنْ عَناء وفَناء وسَلَب وحَرَب.
همانا روزگار، با بازماندگان همان‌گونه می‌گذرد که با گذشتگان گذشت؛ آنچه رفته بازنگردد و آنچه در آن است جاودانه نماند. فرجامِ کارهایش چون آغازش است و کارهایش پیش‌دستی‌کننده و پرچم‌هایش پیوسته است. همراهش هرگز از رنج و فناء و غارت و جنگ جدا نباشد.
Verily time will pass for those who remain [in this world] just as it passed for those gone by. That which has gone shall not return and that which is in it will not remain forever. Its later deeds are the same as the former ones. Its affairs try to excel each another and its banners follow each other. Its companion is never separated from hardship, annihilation, pillage and war.
حکمت ۹۰۳۱ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9031 — Important Eventsإنَّ الدَّهْرَ مُوتِرٌ قَوْسَهُ، لاتَخْطي سِهامُهُ ولاتُؤْسى جِراحُهُ، يَرْمِي الصَّحيحَ بِالسَّقَمِ، والنّاجِيَ بِالعَطَبِ.
همانا روزگار، کمانش را کشیده است و تیرهایش خطا نکند و زخم‌هایش التیام نپذیرد. سالم را به بیماری و در امان را به هلاکت رسداند.
Verily time has its bow stretched [and ready], and its arrow does not miss, and its wound does not heal. It afflicts the healthy with sickness and the [one who is] safe with destruction.
حکمت ۹۰۳۲ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9032 — Important Eventsالدَّهْرُ مُوَكَّلٌ بِتَشْتيتِ الأُلاّفِ.
روزگار، مأمورِ پراکندگیِ عزیزان است.
Time is responsible for the separation of loved ones.
حکمت ۹۰۳۳ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9033 — Important Eventsساعَةُ ذُلّ لاتَفي بِعِزِّ الدَّهْرِ.
ساعتی از ذلت، به عزتِ یک عمر (روزگار) نمی‌رسد.
An hour of humiliation is not compensated for by a lifetime of honour.
حکمت ۹۰۳۴ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9034 — Important Eventsساهِلِ الدَّهْرِ ما ذَلَّ لَكَ قُعُودُهُ ولاتُخاطِرْ بِشَيْء رَجاءَ أكْثَرَ مِنْهُ.
با روزگار، وقتی که در برابر تو فرونشیند، نرمی کن و چیزی را به امیدِ بیشتر از آن، به مخاطره مینداز.
Be flexible with time when it submits itself to you and do not put anything in danger out of hope for gaining more [than it].
حکمت ۹۰۳۵ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9035 — Important Eventsقَدْ أوْجَبَ الدَّهْرُ شُكْرَهُ عَلى مَنْ بَلَغَ سُؤْلَهُ.
روزگار، سپاسگزاریِ خود را بر آن کس که به خواسته‌اش رسیده واجب کرده است.
Time has indeed made its gratitude incumbent on the one who attains what he seeks.
حکمت ۹۰۳۶ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9036 — Important Eventsاَلدَّهْرُ يُخْلِقُ الأبْدانَ، ويُجَدِّدُ الآمالَ، ويُدْنِى المَنِيَّةَ، ويُباعِدُ الأُمْنِيَّةَ.
روزگار، تن‌ها را فرسوده و آرزوها را نوسان دهد و مرگ را نزدیک و آرزوها را دور کند.
Time wears out the bodies, renews hopes, brings death closer and takes aspirations further away.
حکمت ۹۰۳۷ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9037 — Important Eventsاَلدَّهْرُ يَوْمانِ: يَوْمٌ لَكَ، ويَومٌ عَلَيْكَ، فَإذاكانَ لَكَ فَلا تَبْطَرْ، وإذا كانَ عَلَيْكَ فَاصْطَبِرْ.
روزگار، دو روز است: روزی برایت و روزی بر ضدّ تو؛ پس چون برایت بود مغرور و ناسپاس مشو و چون بر ضدّ تو بود صبر کن.
Time consists of two days: a day for you and a day against you, so when it is for you then do not become vain and ungrateful, and when it is against you then have patience.
حکمت ۹۰۳۸ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9038 — Important Eventsاَلدَّهْرُ ذُو حالَتَيْنِ: إبادَة وإفادَة، فَما أبادَهُ فَلا رَجْعَةَ لَهُ، وما أفادَهُ فَلا بَقاءَ لَهُ.
روزگار، دو حالت دارد: نابودی و عطا؛ آنچه را که نابود کند بازنگردد و آنچه را که عطا کند باقی نماند.
Time has two states: destruction and bestowal; that which it destroys does not return and that which it bestows does not last.
حکمت ۹۰۳۹ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9039 — Important Eventsإنَّ الدَّهْرَ لَخَصْمٌ غَيْرُ مَخْصُوم، ومُحْتَكِمٌ غَيْرُ ظَلُوم، ومُحارِبٌ غَيْرُ مَحْرُوب.
همانا روزگار، دشمنی است که با او دشمنی نشود و داوری است که ظالم نیست و جنگ‌جویی است که با او جنگ نشود.
Verily time is an enemy who is not shown enmity, a [chosen] judge who is not unjust and a fighter who has not [and cannot be] fought.
حکمت ۹۰۴۰ — موضوع ۵۹۳ · Important EventsSaying 9040 — Important Eventsمَنْ عانَدَ الزَّمانَ أرْغَمَهُ،وَ مَنِ اسْتَسْلَمَ إلَيْهِ لَمْ يَسْلَمْ.
هر که با زمان عناد کند، او را سرکوبد و هر که به او تسلیم شود، در امان نماند.
One who resists time is compelled by it and one who submits to it is not safe [from it].
