مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ لَجَـأَ إلَيْهِ.
هر که به خدا ایمان آوَرَد، به او پناه بَرَد.
One who believes in Allah seeks [help and] protection from Him.
ما آمَنَ المُؤْمِنُ حتّى عَقَلَ.
مؤمن ایمان نیاوَرَد تا خردمند شود.
A believer has not [truly] believed until he comprehends.
مَثَلُ المُؤْمِنِ كَالاُتْرُجَّةِ طَيِّبٌ طَعْمُها وريحُها.
مَثَل مؤمن چون ترنج است که طعم و بویاش خوش است.
The example of a believer is like that of citronella, both its taste and its fragrance are pleasant.
هُدِىَ مَنْ أخْلَصَ إيمانَهُ.
هر که ایمانش را خالص کند، هدایت یابد.
One who purifies his faith is guided.
هَمُّ المُؤمِنِ لآِخِرَتِهِ، وكُلُّ جِدِّهِ لِمُنْقَلَبِهِ.
همّ مؤمن برای آخرتش است و همهٔ کوششش برای بازگشتش.
The concern of a believer is for his Hereafter, and all his efforts are for his place of [final] return.
لايَشْبَعُ المُؤْمِنُ وأخُوهُ جايعٌ.
مؤمن سیر نشود در حالی که برادرش گرسنه است.
A believer is never satiated while his brother is hungry.
لايُقَصِّرُ المُؤْمِنُ عَنْ احْتِمال، ولا يَجزَعُ لِرَزِيَّة.
مؤمن از تحمّل فروگذار نکند و برای مصیبت بی‌تابی نکند.
A believer never falls short of forbearance and never gets anxious when faced with difficulty.
لايَكونُ الرَّجُلُ مُؤْمِناً حتّى لايُباليَ بِماذا أسَدَّ فَوْرَةَ جُوعِهِ، ولابِأيِّ ثَوبَيْهِ ابْتَذَلَ.
مرد مؤمن نباشد تا مبالا که فورانِ گرسنگی‌اش را با چه فرونشاند و با کدام جامه‌اش به کار روزمره پردازد.
A man does not become a [true] believer until he is no longer concerned about what [food] will end his pangs of hunger and which of his two attires he will wear.
بِشْرُ المُؤْمِنِ في وَجْهِهِ، وحُزْنُهُ في قَلْبِهِ، أوْسَعُ شَيْء صَدْراً، وأذَلُّ شَيْء نَفْساً، يَكْرَهُ الرِّفْعةَ، ويَشْنَأُ السُّمْعَةَ، طَويلٌ غَمُّهُ، بَعيدٌ هَمُّهُ، كَثيرٌ صَمْتُهُ، مَشْغُولٌ وَقْتُهُ، صَبُورٌ شَكُورٌ، مَغْمُورٌ بِفِكْرَتِهِ، ضَنينٌ بِخُلَّتِهِ، سَهْلُ الخليقَةِ، لَيِّـنُ العَريكَةِ، نَفْسُهُ أصْلَبُ مِنَ الصُّلْدِ، وهُوَ أذَلُّ مِنَ العَبْدِ.
گشاده‌روییِ مؤمن در چهره‌اش است و اندوهش در دلش؛ گشاده‌سینه‌ترینِ چیزهاست و فروتن‌ترینِ جان‌ها؛ بلندی را خوش ندارد و آوازه‌جویی را دشمن دارد؛ غمش دراز و همّتش دور است؛ خاموشی‌اش بسیار و وقتش مشغول است؛ صبور و سپاسگزار است؛ در اندیشه‌اش غوطه‌ور و در دوستی‌اش محتاط است؛ ساده‌سرشت و نرم‌خوست؛ جانش از سنگ سخت‌تر و خود از بنده فروتن‌تر است.
The cheerfulness of a believer is in his face and his sorrow is in his heart. He has the broadest chest (i.e. has great patience, knowledge and virtue) and is most humble in spirit. He hates high position and dislikes renown. His grief is long, his sorrow is distant, his silence is much and his time is occupied. He is grateful and patient, submerged in his thoughts [about the Hereafter], sparing in his friendship, easy going and of soft temperament. He is firmer than a hard rock but humbler than a slave.
حُسْنُ وَجْهِ المُؤمِنِ مِنْ حُسْنِ عِنايَةِ اللّهِ بِهِ.
نیکوییِ چهرهٔ مؤمن از نیکوییِ عنایت خدا به اوست.
The beauty of a believer’s face is from the special favour of Allah on him.
إنَّ المُؤْمِنَ يُرى يَقينُهُ في عَمَلِهِ وإنَّ المُنافِقَ يُرى شَكُّهُ في عَمَلِهِ.
یقینِ مؤمن در عملش دیده شود و شکِ منافق در عملش.
Verily the certitude of a believer is seen in his actions and the doubt of a hypocrite is seen in his actions.
اَلمُؤمنُ كَيِّسٌ، عاقِلٌ.
مؤمن زیرک است و خردمند.
A believer is sagacious and intelligent.
المُؤْمِنُ مُنَزَّهٌ عَنِ الزَّيغِ والشِّقاقِ.
مؤمن از انحراف و تفرقه منزّه است.
A believer is free from perversion and dissension.
اَلمُؤْمِنُ مُنيبٌ، مُسْتَغْفِرٌ، تَوَّابٌ.
مؤمن بازگشت‌کننده است و آمرزش‌خواه و بسیار توبه‌کن.
A believer is penitent, repentant and remorseful.
اَلمُؤْمِنُ غَريزَتُهُ النُّصْحُ، وسَجِيَّتُهُ الكَظْمُ.
غریزهٔ مؤمن خیرخواهی است و سرشتش فروخوردن [خشم].
The nature of a believer is [being] sincere and his trait is suppressing anger.
اَلمُؤمِنُونَ خَيْراتُـهُمْ مَأمُولَةٌ، وشُرُورُهُمْ مَأمُونَةٌ.
خیرهای مؤمنان امید بسته شود و شرّهایشان ایمن.
The believers are such that their good deeds are expected and people are safe from their evil.
تَقِيَّةُ المُؤْمِنِ في قَلْبِهِ، وتَوْبَتُهُ فِي اعْتِرافِهِ.
تقوای مؤمن در دلش است و توبه‌اش در اقرارش.
The fear of a believer is in his heart and his repentance is in his admission.
ثَلاثٌ هُنَّ زَيْنُ المُؤْمِنِ: تَقْوَى اللّهِ، وصِدْقُ الحَديثِ، وأداءُ الأمانَةِ.
سه چیز است که زینتِ مؤمن است: تقوای خدا، راستیِ سخن و ادای امانت.
Three things are adornments for believers: fear of Allah, truthful speech and returning trusts [to their rightful owners].
جَمالُ المُؤمِنِ وَرَعُهُ.
زیباییِ مؤمن پارساییِ اوست.
The beauty of a believer is his piety.
