كَيفَ يَأنَسُ بِاللّهِ مَنْ لا يَسْتَوْحِشُ مِنَ الخَلْقِ؟
چگونه با خدا اُنس گیرد آن که از خلق وحشت ندارد؟
How can one become intimate with Allah when he has not separated himself from the creation?
مَنْ اَنِسَ باللّهِ اِسْتَوحَشَ مِنَ النَّاسِ.
هر که با خدا اُنس گیرد، از مردم وحشت کند.
One who is intimate with Allah keeps aloof from the people.
مَنِ اسْتَوحَشَ عَنِ النَّاسِ أَنِسَ بِاللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ.
هر که از مردم وحشت کند، با خدای سبحان اُنس گیرد.
One who keeps aloof from the people, becomes intimate with Allah, the Glorified.
اُنسُ الأمْنِ تُذْهِبُهُ وَحْشَةُ الوَحْدَةِ، وأُنْسُ الجَماعَةِ يُنَكِّدُهُ وَحْشَةُ المَخافَةِ.
اُنسِ ایمنی را وحشتِ تنهایی بَرَد و اُنسِ جماعت را وحشتِ بیم تیره کند.
The comfort of security is removed by the anxiety of loneliness and the apprehension of fear disturbs the familiarity of society.
اَلأُنسُ في ثَلاثَة: اَلزَّوجَةِ المُوافِقَةِ، والوَلَدِ الصَّالِحِ، والأخِ المُوافِقِ.
اُنس در سه چیز است: همسرِ موافق، فرزندِ شایسته و برادرِ موافق.
Intimacy is in three [people]: A compatible wife, a righteous child and an agreeable brother.
أحقُّ النَّاسِ أنْ يُونَسَ بِهِ، اَلوَدُودُ، اَلمألُوفُ.
سزاوارترینِ مردم به اُنس‌گرفتن، دوستدارِ اُنس‌پذیر است.
The most deserving of intimacy among the people is the close friend.
اَلتُّؤَدَةُ مَمْدُوحَةٌ في كُلِّ شَيْء إلاّ في فُرَصِ الخَيْرِ.
درنگ پسندیده است در هر چیز، جز در فرصت‌های خیر.
Acting slowly is praiseworthy in everything except in opportunities for [doing] good.
اَلتَّثَبُّتُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ العَجَلَةِ إلاّ في فُرَصِ الخَيْرِ(البِرِّ).
تأمل بهتر از شتاب است، جز در فرصت‌های خیر [نیکی].
Taking time [to ascertain] is better than making haste, except in opportunities for [doing] good.
اَلتَّأنّي حَزْمٌ.
درنگ تدبیر است.
Deliberateness is judiciousness.
التَّأنّي يُوجِبُ الإستِظهارَ.
درنگ پشت‌گرمی آوَرَد.
Deliberateness brings about assurance.
اَلتَّأنّيُ فيِ الفِعْلِ يُؤمِنُ الخَطَلَ.
درنگ در کردار، از خطا ایمنی بخشد.
Deliberateness in action protects against errancy.
بِالتَّأنّي تَسْهُلُ المَطالِبُ.
به درنگ خواسته‌ها آسان شود.
Through deliberateness, matters become easy.
التَثَبُّتُ في القَوْلِ يُؤمِنُ العِثارَ والزَّلَلَ.
تأمل در سخن، از لغزش و خطا ایمنی بخشد.
Confidence in speech protects from slips and mistakes.
بِالتَّأنّي تَسْهَلُ الأسْبابُ.
به درنگ اسباب آسان شود.
Through deliberateness, means become easy.
رُوَيْداً يُسْفِرُ الظَّلامُ، كَأنْ قَدْ وَرَدَتِ الأظْعانُ يُوشِكُ مَنْ أسْـَرعَ أنْ يَلْحَقَ.
آرام گیرید که تاریکی روشن شود؛ گویی کاروانِ کوچندگان رسیده است؛ نزدیک است آن که شتاب کرد برسد.
Slowly! Darkness is disappearing; as though those who had departed have arrived [at their final destination] and those who hasten will soon join.
صِلْ عَجَلَتَكَ بِتَأنّيكَ، وسَطْوَتَكَ بِرِفْقِكَ، وشَرَّكَ بِخَيْرِكَ، وانْصُرِ العَقْلَ عَلَى الهَوى تَمْلِكِ النُّهى.
شتابت را به درنگت پیوند ده و سختی‌ات را به نرمی‌ات و شرّ خود را به خیرت و خِرَد را بر هوی یاری ده تا خردمندی را به فرمان آوری.
Bind your haste with your deliberateness, your domination with your friendliness and your evil [traits] with your good [ones]. Help the intellect overcome vain desires and you will possess understanding.
عَلَيكَ بِالأناةِ فَإنَّ المُتَأنّي حَرِىٌّ بِالإصابَةِ.
درنگ را پیشه کن که درنگ‌کننده به صواب نزدیک است.
You must adopt deliberateness, for indeed one who acts unhurriedly is deserving of success.
فِي التَّأنّي إسْتِظْهارٌٌ.
در درنگ پشت‌گرمی است.
In deliberateness there is [precaution and] assurance.
فيِ الأناةِ السَّلامَةُ.
در درنگ سلامتی است.
In deliberateness there is safety.
