حکمت ۱۰۶۱ — موضوع ۳۶ · Cold WeatherSaying 1061 — Cold Weatherتَوَقُّو البَرْدَ في أوَّلِهِ، وتَلَقَّوْهُ في آخِرهِ، فَإنَّهُ يَفْعَلُ بِالأبْدانِ كَما يَفْعَلُ فِي الأغصانِ، أوَّلُهُ يُحْرِقُ، وآخِرُهُ يُورِقُ.
در آغاز از سرما پرهیز کنید و در پایانش به استقبالش روید؛ چرا که در بدن‌ها آن کند که در شاخه‌ها کند: آغازش بسوزاند و پایانش برگ دهد.
Be cautious of the cold [of winter] at its onset and embrace it towards its ending, for it acts upon the bodies as it acts upon the branches its beginning scorches and its end causes leaves to grow.
حکمت ۱۰۶۲ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1062 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itاَلبِرُّ عَمَلٌ مُصْلِحٌ.
نیکوکاری عملِ اصلاح‌گر است.

نیکوکاری غنیمتِ دوراندیش است.
Righteousness is the prize of the judicious.

نیکوکاری شتابان‌ترینِ چیزها در پاداش است.

به نیکی است که آزادگان به بندگیِ [طوع] درآیند.
Through righteousness the free man is owned.
حکمت ۱۰۶۷ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1067 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itتَعجِيلُ البِرِّ زيادَةٌ فِي البِرِّ.
شتاب در نیکی، افزونیِ نیکی است.
Hastening to perform righteous acts increases [one’s] righteousness.

بهترینِ نیکی آن است که به آزادگان رسد.
The best benefaction is that which reaches the free.

بهترینِ نیکی آن است که به نیازمند رسد.
The best righteous act is that which reaches the needy.
حکمت ۱۰۷۰ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1070 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itفي كُلِّ بِرّ شُكْرٌ.
در هر نیکی سپاسی است.
In every righteous act there is gratitude.
حکمت ۱۰۷۱ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1071 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ مَنَعَ بِرّاً مُنِعَ شُكْراً.
هر که نیکی‌ای باز دارد، سپاسی از او باز مانَد.
One who prevents righteousness is deprived of gratitude.
حکمت ۱۰۷۲ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1072 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ بَذَلَ بِرَّهُ إنْتَشَرَ ذِكْرُهُ.
هر که نیکی‌اش را ببخشد، یادش پخش شود.
Whoever extends his righteousness, his renown spreads.
حکمت ۱۰۷۳ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1073 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ قَرُبَ بِرُّهُ بَعُدَ صيتُهُ.
هر که نیکی‌اش نزدیک باشد، آوازه‌اش دور رسد.
One whose righteousness is close [at hand], his reputation goes far [and wide].
حکمت ۱۰۷۴ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1074 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ أتْبَعَ الإحسانَ بِالإحسانِ، واحتَمَلَ جِناياتِ الإخْوانِ والجيرانِ، فَقَد أكْمَلَ البِرَّ.
هر که نیکی را به نیکی پیوند دهد و جفاهای برادران و همسایگان را تحمّل کند، نیکی را کامل کرده است.
One who follows up one good act with another good act and bears the offences of his brothers and neighbours has perfected [his] virtue.
حکمت ۱۰۷۵ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1075 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ بَخِلَ عَلَيْكَ بِبِشْرِهِ لَمْ يَسْمَحْ بِبِرِّهِ.
هر که گشاده‌رویی‌اش را از تو دریغ دارد، نیکی‌اش را ارزانی ندارد.
One who is miserly towards you with his cheerfulness will not be generous with his righteousness.
حکمت ۱۰۷۶ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1076 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمِنْ أفْضَلِ البِرِّ بِرُّ الأيتامِ.
از برترینِ نیکی‌ها، نیکی به یتیمان است.
One of the best righteous acts is being kind to the orphans.

با نیکی رحمت جاری شود.
With righteousness, mercy flows forth abundantly.
حکمت ۱۰۷۸ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1078 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itلِسانُ البَرِّيَأبى سَفَهَ الجُهّالِ.
زبان نیکوکار از سبکیِ نادانان سر باز زند.
The righteous tongue rejects the foolishness of the ignorant.
حکمت ۱۰۷۹ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1079 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمَنْ كَثُرَ بِرُّهُ حُمِدَ.
هر که نیکی‌اش فزون شود، ستوده شود.
One whose righteousness increases is praised.
حکمت ۱۰۸۰ — موضوع ۳۷ · Righteousness And Those Who Prevent ItSaying 1080 — Righteousness And Those Who Prevent Itمِنْ شِيَمِ الأبْرارِ حَمْلُ النُّفُوسِ عَلَى الإيثارِ.
از خوی‌های نیکان، واداشتن نفس‌ها به ایثار است.
Urging the self towards altruism is from the qualities of the righteous.
