إخْلاصُ التَّوبَةِ يُسْقِطُ الحَوْبَةَ.
خلوص توبه گناه را فروریزد.
Sincere repentance cancels [one’s] sins.
اَلتَّوْبَةُ تُطَهِّرُ القُلُوبَ، وتَغْسِلُ الذُّنُوبَ.
توبه دل‌ها را پاکیزه کند و گناهان را بشوید.
Repentance purifies the hearts and washes away sins.
بِالتَّوبَةِ تُمَحَّصُ السَّيـِّئاتُ.
به توبه بدی‌ها پاک شود.
Through repentance, sins are purged.
بِالتَّوبَةِ تُكَفَّرُ الذُّنُوبُ.
به توبه گناهان آمرزیده شود.
Through repentance, sins are expiated.
ثَمَرَةُ التَّوْبَةِ اسْتِدْراكُ فَوارِطِ النَّفسِ.
میوهٔ توبه جبرانِ گذشته‌های نفس است.
The fruit of repentance is correcting the excesses of the self.
حُسْنُ التَّوْبَةِ يَمْحُو الحَوْبَةَ.
نیکوییِ توبه گناه را محو کند.
Sincere repentance erases misdeeds.
مَنْ تابَ فَقَدْ أنابَ.
هر که توبه کند، بازگشت کرده است.
One who repents [with sincerity] has indeed returned [to Allah].
مَنْ اُعْطِيَ التَّوبَةَ لَمْ يُحْرَمِ القَبُولَ.
هر که توبه به او داده شود، از پذیرش محروم نمانَد.
One who is granted repentance will not be deprived of its acceptance.
ما أهْدَمَ التَّوبَةَ لِعَظيمِ الجُرْمِ.
چه بسیار توبه که جرم بزرگ را ویران کند!
How devastating repentance is for the great crimes [one commits]!
لاخَيرَ في الدُّنيا إلاّ لأحَدِ رَجُلَينِ: رَجُلٌ أذْنَبَ ذُنُوباً فَهُوَ يَتَدارَكُها بِالتَّوْبَةِ، ورَجُلٌ يُجاهِدُ نَفْسَهُ على طاعةِ اللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ.
در دنیا خیری نیست جز برای یکی از دو مرد: مردی که گناهانی کرده و آن‌ها را با توبه جبران می‌کند، و مردی که نفسش را بر طاعت خدای سبحان می‌کشاند.
There is no good in this world except for two [types of] people: the person who makes amends for the sins that he commits, through repentance, and the person who struggles against his lower-self in obedience to Allah, the Glorified.
يَسيرُ التَّوبَةِ والاستِغْفارِ يُمَحِّصُ المَعاصِىَ والإصْرارَ.
اندکِ توبه و آمرزش‌خواهی، نافرمانی‌ها و اصرار [بر گناه] را پاک کند.
The smallest [amount of] repentance and seeking forgiveness purges sins and repeated misdeeds.
مَعَ الإنابَةِ تـَكُونُ المَغْفِرَةُ.
با بازگشت [به خدا] آمرزش باشد.
It is by returning [to Allah] that forgiveness is gained.
أصْلُ الرِّضا حُسْنُ الثِّقَةِ بِاللّهِ.
ریشهٔ خشنودی، نیکو اعتماد کردن به خداست.
The foundation of contentment is complete reliance on Allah.
اَلثِّقَةُ بِاللّهِ أقْوى أمَل.
اعتماد به خدا نیرومندترینِ امیدهاست.
Relying on Allah is the strongest hope.
اِكْتِسابُ الثَّوابِ أفْضلُ الأرْباحِ، والإقْبالُ عَلَى اللّهِ رَأسُ النَّجاحِ.
به‌دست‌آوردنِ پاداش برترینِ سودهاست و روی‌آوردن به خدا سرِ کامیابی.
Acquiring [divine] reward is the best achievement and coming close to Allah is the pinnacle of success.
اَلثَّوابُ بِالمَشَقَّةِ.
پاداش به رنج است.
Reward is gained in proportion to the difficulty endured.
لا رِبْحَ كالثَّوابِ.
هیچ سودی چون پاداش نیست.
There is no gain like divine reward.
لاذُخْرَ كالثَّوابِ.
هیچ اندوخته‌ای چون پاداش نیست.
There is no provision [for the Hereafter] like reward [for good deeds].
اِرْفَعْ ثَوبَكَ فَإنَّهُ أنْقى لَكَ، وأتْقى لِقَلْبِكَ، وأبْقى عَلَيكَ.
جامه‌ات را [از زمین] بلند گیر که برایت پاکیزه‌تر و برای دلت پرهیزکارتر و برایت ماندگارتر است.
Raise your garment (i.e. do not let it be too long) for that is purer for you, safer for your heart and more long-lasting on you.
