حکمت ۱۸۰۱ — موضوع ۱۱۵ · JealousySaying 1801 — Jealousyلاتَحاسَدُوا فَإنَّ الحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الإيمانَ، كَما تَأْكُلُ النّارُ الحَطَبَ، وَلاتَباغَضُوا فَإنَّها الحالِقَةُ.
حسادت مکنید که حسادت ایمان را خورد چنان که آتش هیزم را خورد؛ و دشمنی مکنید که آن تراشنده است.
Do not be jealous of each other, for jealousy eats away the faith like fire consumes firewood; and do not have hatred for one another for this is severing [for the faith].

هیچ دردی چون حسادت نیست.

حسود و کینه‌توز را شادی پایدار نماند.
Happiness does not last for the jealous and the spiteful.
حکمت ۱۸۰۴ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1804 — The Jealousاَلْحَسُودُ أبَداً عَليلٌ، والبَخيلُ أبَداً ذَلِيلٌ.
حسود همیشه بیمار است و بخیل همیشه خوار.
The jealous one is always ill and the miser is always abased.
حکمت ۱۸۰۵ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1805 — The Jealousاَلْحَسُودُ دائِمُ السُّقْمِ وإنْ كانَ صَحِيحَ الجِسْمِ.
حسود همیشه بیمار است، هرچند تن‌درست باشد.
The jealous one is always sick, even when his body is healthy.

حسود همیشه بیمار است.
The jealous person is always ill.

حسود شفا نیابد.
The jealous one is never cured.

حسود سروری نیابد.
The jealous one never gains authority.

حسود بر قضا خشمگین است.
The jealous one is angry at destiny.
حکمت ۱۸۱۰ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1810 — The Jealousاَلْحَسُودُ كَثيرُ الحَسَراتِ، مُتَضاعِفُ السَّيـِّئاتِ.
حسود بسیار حسرت‌زده و دوچندان بدی‌بار است.
The jealous one has many regrets and his sins are multiplied.
حکمت ۱۸۱۱ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1811 — The Jealousعِنْدَ تَظاهُرِ النِّعَمِ يَكْثُرُ الحُسّادُ.
چون نعمت‌ها آشکار شوند، حسودان فزون شوند.
When blessings are [openly] displayed, the enviers increase.
حکمت ۱۸۱۲ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1812 — The Jealousعَجِبْتُ لِغَفْلَةِ الحُسّادِ عَنْ سَلامَةِ الأجْسادِ.
در شگفتم از غفلتِ حسودان از سلامتِ تن‌ها!
I am amazed at the heedlessness of the jealous about the health of their bodies.

حسود را دوستی نیست.
The jealous one has no friendship.
حکمت ۱۸۱۴ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1814 — The Jealousمَنْ كَثُرَ حَسَدُهُ، طالَ كَمَدُهُ.
هر که حسادتش فزون شود، اندوهش دراز شود.
One whose jealousy increases, his depression becomes prolonged.

چه اندک است آسایشِ حسود!
How little comfort the jealous person has!
حکمت ۱۸۱۶ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1816 — The Jealousلاتَكُونُوا لِفَضْلِ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُسّاداً.
بر فضلِ خدا بر خود حسادت مورزید.
Because of the favour of Allah upon you, do not be jealous.
حکمت ۱۸۱۷ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1817 — The Jealousلاراحَةَ لِحَسُود.
حسود را آسایشی نیست.
There is no comfort for the jealous.
حکمت ۱۸۱۸ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1818 — The Jealousلايُوجَدُ الحَسُودُ مَسْـرُوراً.
حسود را شادمان نیابند.
The jealous person will never be found happy.
حکمت ۱۸۱۹ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1819 — The Jealousلايَكُونُ المُؤْمِنُ حَسُوداً.
مؤمن حسود نباشد.
A believer is never jealous.
حکمت ۱۸۲۰ — موضوع ۱۱۶ · The JealousSaying 1820 — The Jealousلاعَيْشَ أنْكَدُ مِنْ عَيْشِ الحَسُودِ والحَقُودِ.
هیچ زندگی‌ای ناگوارتر از زندگیِ حسود و کینه‌توز نیست.
No life is more miserable than the life of the jealous and the spiteful.
