لَا تُصَاحِبِ الْأَحْمَقَ.
با احمق همنشین مشو.
People are enemies of what they do not know.
مَسِيرَةُ يَوْمٍ لِلشَّمْسِ.
مسیر یک روز خورشید.
All abstinence is between two words of the Quran.
إِخْوَانُكَ ثَلَاثَةٌ.
دوستانت سه گروه‌اند.
How breaking is sleep for the resolves of the day.
أَنْتَ كَالطَّاعِنِ نَفْسَهُ.
تو مانند کسی هستی که نیزه بر خود می‌زند.
Governorships are the racecourses of men.
مَا أَكْثَرَ الْعِبَرَ وَ أَقَلَّ الِاعْتِبَارَ.
عبرت بسیار است و عبرت‌گیرنده کم.
No land is more rightful for you than another; the best is what carries you.
مَنْ بَالَغَ فِي الْخُصُومَةِ أَثِمَ.
هر که در دشمنی زیاده‌روی کند گناهکار است.
Malik — and what is Malik! By God, if he were a mountain he would be unique.
مَا أُبَالِي بِذَنْبٍ أُمْهِلْتُ بَعْدَهُ.
گناهی که پس از آن مهلت یابم نگرانم نمی‌کند.
Little that continues is better than much that wearies.
كَيْفَ يُحَاسِبُهُمْ؟
چگونه حساب همه را می‌رسد؟
When a man has a pleasing trait, expect its sisters.
لَيْسَ الْمُبْتَلَى بِأَحْوَجَ.
مبتلا محتاج‌تر از معاف نیست.
Where are your many camels?
النَّاسُ أَبْنَاءُ الدُّنْيَا.
مردم فرزندان دنیایند.
Whoever trades without knowledge of the law sinks into usury.
الْمِسْكِينُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ.
مستمند فرستاده خداست.
Whoever magnifies small calamities, God afflicts him with great ones.
مَا زَنَى غَيُورٌ.
غیرتمند هرگز زنا نمی‌کند.
Whoever holds his self dear, his desire becomes cheap to him.
كَفَى بِالْأَجَلِ حَارِساً.
اجل نگهبان کافی است.
No one made an (improper) joke but that he lost some of his reason.
الثَّكْلَى الْمَسْلُوبَةُ.
مصیبت‌زده مال‌ربوده.
Showing coolness to one who is fond of you decreases your share of his friendship.
مَوَدَّةُ الْآبَاءِ قَرَابَةٌ.
دوستی پدران خویشاوندی فرزندان است.
Wealth and poverty become clear when deeds are presented to God.
اتَّقُوا فِرَاسَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ.
از فراست مؤمن بترسید.
